Hahaha.. im sorry.. but all security officers have the power and authority to do so. Under the Infrastructure Protection Act, Security Officers have the Authority to ask the perpetrator to leave the premises. If he does not abide, the SOs have to right and authority to use Reasonable and Necessary Force to arrest him (you) and detain him till police arrives if he fails to comply. (Yes, he has the authority to do so. )

Any individual showing up there should respect the security officers who are merely doing their job....they are protecting the tenants and the building..its a protected area as the security officer has said so... They too as officers need to know if anyone has an appointment or if the tenants themselves would want to see anyone... There might probably be good reasons for not entertaining anyone if that should be the case. U go to building to seek someone...someone u must surely know or are being invited..but if u cant produce proper documents, invoice or other form of proof, then surely that person may have a motive that might concern the very people who protect that designated area....its their job and their rightful job to enquire if and should anyone is trespassing or up to some mischief, etc... Always be humble and state ur intent, ur purpose when enquired while visiting places that are considered protected considering the fact if and should an image is even taken which may not be wise...
