Hi Sal ... If we move to the native FC zoning that shouldn't cause any connectivity issues to the SAN right ? Would we see a performance boost since we are taking away a hop to the SAN ?

Helpful! Thanks.

If you have an existing SAN with UCS and everything is working well, I would leave it as it is. You can't have native zoning and then an upstream connection to a SAN as well. Yes, you could have the storage itself connected to a SAN and UCS, but to me, that just creates more complexity. If it's working well, just leave it alone.

Do we have any simulator for Cisco FC zoning?

Hold on a second.. You do realize that to connect an FC cable to the FI requires a port license right? I dont think this is a money saver so much as a evolution of the FI, which i hope that Cisco only charges port enablement fees for Blade chassis. Cisco talked us into buying a couple 5k's northbound and to terminate the FC and ethernet.
