What has been your experience so far with the Room Kit Mini if you have one in your environment?
@brandau245 жыл бұрын
So the room kit minis will only mount on certain displays? ie it most likely wouldn't work to mount on a computer monitor? Edit: very helpful video btw!
@TheTechCatalyst5 жыл бұрын
@@brandau24 The Mini is designed for small huddle spaces of 2-5 people and would be a little heavy for a computer monitor in most cases so the mounting hardware was not built to accommodate that application specifically. You could use the wall mount option to attach to a wall or possibly a cubical wall that computer display is up against. Finally, I guess you could use a TV as your monitor... haha Cisco has positioned the DX80 as the single user desktop video solution. This would work as your monitor as well. I hope that helps!! As always keep an eye on Cisco's website just in case there is another alternative that comes out soon ;-)

@@TheTechCatalyst Excellent response. Thank you for taking the time to detail that. We will probably go with the dx80's, just was holding out small hope to use room kits as standardized and scale-able solution, but the DX80s are solid. My only concern is will the DX80s work with google hangouts?
@TheTechCatalyst5 жыл бұрын
@@brandau24 in the case of hangouts you will want the mini so you can pull in video (via USB) since the only way to get the viseo stream to the hangouts service is through the computer. A service like webex allows SIP dial in which the kit mini can also do cutting out the PC. I talked to a co worker who has a kiti mini on a computer monitor but it took some extra hardware. Maybe get one unit to test with?

@@TheTechCatalyst Yeah that's what I figured. Interesting, I'll have to look into the feasibility of that. Thanks again!

You didn't mention it but where did you go to get the 16 digit code? Was it a website, did you scan a QR code from somewhere?
@TheTechCatalyst3 ай бұрын
This is done in the control hub at admin.webex.com.

Cisco uses the term SPARK often with these same 3 different sized units. Is there a difference? Same form factor and mounting points? Thanks.
@TheTechCatalyst4 жыл бұрын
The new term is "Webex Rooms" for these endpoints. Agree... confusing for sure! Room Kit Mini : Small Huddle Space 2-3 people Room Kit: Medium Sized Space 3-7 people Room Kit Plus: Larger room that needs speaker track 7-15 people depending on layout Room Kit Pro: Custom built rooms with custom AV Check out projectworkplace.cisco.com for room layout pairing ideas.

I have purchased cisco k9 plus room kit, now how to register device and from where I can get 16 digits activation code ?
@TheTechCatalyst2 жыл бұрын
Do you have a Webex Control Hub instance setup? There is a cloud registration license needed to get the system setup.

How do you configure the roomkit with CUCM?
@TheTechCatalyst Жыл бұрын
For CUCM you will need to install a COP file to add registration support. From there you setup like any other UCM device.

I know it is possible to connect it to a PC with a USB cable so it looks like a webcam (with built-in mic and speaker), but can this be left connected when you want to use the codec to make a SIP call, or is it an 'either/or' scenario i.e. you have to physically unplug the USB for it to revert back to Codec mode?

great video man! helped me answer a lot of the questions a had about this! buying one for my company. I just got a couple questions though, hope you can help me out: - if you already plugged the Ethernet and the Power cable individually, why did you also plugged a PoE cable? - the wireless content sharing is from a third party device(notebook, PC, Ipad..) or is it from the Cisco tablet?
@TheTechCatalyst4 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! 1. The POE is to power the Touch 10 as well as connect it for communications between the T10 and the Kit its self. 2. The sharing is actually from a laptop, phone, etc directly to the room kit its self. In this video I show the wireless sharing toward the beginning of the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXLFhqx_oaebd9E I hope that helps!!

Great video!! I have a few technical questions about initial set-up. How user friendly is the setup after the initial physical installation? I am considering selling this set up to a potential client and I want to know if I need outside tech support or if I can provide the support.

when unboxing did you come across the privacy cover? It is supposed to come with one.

The unit did not come with one day one. I believe new units will start shipping with them soon. If you wanted a few you could ask your Cisco partner to order. CS-KITMIN-CAM-COV= is the SKU. List price they are $19 as a spare part right now.
