Same bro. I heard this when I was 17 and I was really dumb and on the path to prison. Unfortunately, I dropped out of school too right after almost getting killed by a cop over something dumb. However, this music really made me look at who I was and what I wanted from life. Believe or not but I'm a surfer out in Florida now with my own business and if you looked at the music I listen to you would never believe that I'm from the hood in Oklahoma City... It's crazy how life can change! I'm 30 years old now. edit: I also play the Ukulele and guitar lmao

This song has gotten me through some very tough times in my life. I’ve tried to take my own life before. I survived. At the time I was upset that I survived. But after that I found this song and it motivated me to muster up the will to keep moving and keep going. And I’m glad I did. After so much heartbreak and losses, I managed to muster up some happiness and I survived off of that little hope I had left and it went a long way. Thank you, Cise Starr.

Treat you how I treat myself, yeah I know the golden rule If I treat myself like shit/what am I to do to you Years later, and this line hits so much differently now that I can look at my past actions with a bit more clarity

To look back and see the errors of your ways is a major step in progress. Don't stop growing and don't stop taking responsibility for your actions even when they're a little off. I wish you the best brother.

I repent my past actions too, and my hatred for myself runs very deep. It’s taken many years of self inflicted punishment to learn that there are only two options: keep on bringing yourself down and staying in this cycle for life, or to form a purpose from the pain and the guilt to eventually make something great of your life; something even greater than otherwise “what could’ve been” had you not made those mistakes.

"Treat you like i treat myself/ Yeah I know the Golden Rule/ But If I treat myself like shit/ what am I to do to you/" BEST LINES EVER. I believe that this is the reason why people act so harshly to each other. As a high schooler, I see this occur all the time. People making bad decisions and then acting cruely towards others. If we learn to be good to ourselves then we will be able to progress towards being good to others. Cise starr is one of the greatest artist I've ever heard.

"Life is ugly so is death handsome?" No, death is not. A family member passed away today. Life can feel misrable at times and like you've truly hit rock bottom but when you're at your lowest, the only place to go is up. Life is so fragile and although I'm sure no one is reading this just really make sure to appreciate your loved ones while you still have them. Here today and gone tomorrow. It doesn't make sense how fast things can change and you can get sucked out of your normal living routine. Don't let the pain of life block you from enjoying it's beauties.

Cise calls out a fallacy, of life being ugly. This could allude to Nas' “Life’s a B*tch”, even though it’s a common term. He exploits the fallacy of ugly life since death isn’t too handsome. It’s death. Anyhow, he notes earlier how pain and self-denial pollute the enjoyment of life.
