Cissy, Now I understand even more what made Whitney a beautiful person inside and out. It's because she had a loving mother like you. And Whitney loved you so much, I'm sure she never wanted you to be disappointed or worried about her. Such a loving family! You are one super woman, Cissy!!!

Whitney was a gift and so was her VOICE FROM GOD.WHITNEY WAS THE VOICE THEIR WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER WHITNEY E HOUSTON .A VOICE FROM HEAVEN WHITNEY YOU ARE REALLY MISSED REST IN HEAVEN

Interesting. I once had a coworker, whose son was killed about 10yrs ago, and she told us something very similar, that she had got some message from God, when he was born, that He was going to have to come and take him back, one day. I know God can see way down the road, before we get to it so I suppose this is for them to prepare themselves, and this coworker held up good, never broke down. Cissy is holding up good, too.✌🏽

Say what you want but their will NEVER be another Whitney. That gifted voice came from 2 sources alone Cissy and GOD. There is not a doubt in my mind that Whitney was in fact the greatest singer to ever exist AND on top of that she was one of histories most beautiful women INSIDE AND OUT. Cissy you did a phenomenal job as a mother dont ever doubt that you just wanted to protect her. I think more than anything Whitney was either her own best friend OR her own worst enemy. But then again aren't we all? 💯

Because it goes to show that these t.v. stations don't always have all the facts when it comes to documentaries, they don't always obtain all the right info from the right people. There's no telling who & where they got their info from to do the Whitney Houston movie. Bobby Brown Story was a whole lot better as a movie because it had more facts & more scenes of stuff that actually happened because he told his own story....in his book and in the movie....they matched up in truth & facts pretty well. Whitney was already gone when the movie came out about her, she didn't get a chance to tell her story.....so that is also why that movie was missing a lot. It wasn't the best at all....min my opinion. If a movie about her was created from this audio/book from Cissy Houston, it would definitely tell a lot more in depth....& in truth about the life of Whitney Houston.

It’s unbelievable the amount of comfort, life lessons, advice and strength I have gained from listening to this book. If you read between the lines, ciccy is not just speaking about her daughter, herself and her life. She is discussing the guidance of god and giving you lots of life advice. My favourite line is ‘sometimes in life, you just have to learn how to tell people to kiss your ass and keep on walking’. So true.

I'm glad we're finally in an era of advanced emotional inteligence and that we finally surpassed the generation of parents living vicariously through their children. Whitney may not have had to want for anything financially but lacked big time in many other areas which is why she got lost in that superficial lifestyle. This book and those documentaries from last year really put a lot in perspective. It starts at home.

Cissy Houston is truly a woman of God and faith. She never once said any words of hatred or shame towards anyone in hers or Whitney's life. As a devoted Whitney Houston fan, I knew most of what she shared with us, however I was so thankful for the childhood stories of her babies, and getting to know who she was as a mom, wife and mother. We all blessed that Cissy Houston gave the world a extraordinary angel who impacted millions of lives through her music. Thank you to your and your family for sharing her with us. She lives in my heart and prayers, always.

This is just simply Beautiful I understand more now Nippy had a lot on her plate to start out so young and Beautiful.Whitney Houston was a angel God gave her a beautiful gift the Voice we all fall short and make mistakes in life who are we to judge one.Cissy knew the truth when Nippy was Born. One moment in time she was with us whatever happen in that bathroom in February 2012 is between Nippy and God go see the movie Whitney and you will really understand more she was human a person like you and I her life became everyone business,I don't judge Bobby Brown but he was not what she needed but she fell in love with him and wanted it to work but we can't change anyone only our selves.Bobbie k didn't even get to live and enjoy her life but I know in my heart that Nippy loved her daughter and her mother more then life it's self. But God has a better plan time was up God took his daughter home, change had to come out of all she been through Whitney Houston loved her Lord and that was the last song Nippy sung yes Jesus love's me she was a gift a Beautiful gift and I thank God and Cissy for the Beautiful voice and her life of 48 years of life.

She definitely did a fine job, as a mother. All God requires of a parent is to love them, clothe, n feed them, keep a roof over their head, and teach them. Her job is done. God will bless her for caring for His child, And you know Whitney had love, for her mama. They say she was trying to call her, before she died. If a person is about to die, like George Floyd, and the one person they call on, is their mama, that's a solid mama, and they have a real love in their heart, for their mama. So you know she's good, because you sure wouldn't be calling for a bad mama.✌🏽

Diamond Tribe it’s alarming; I’ve been seeing this often. It seems almost normalized. But only in the past few years; likely from talk to text & dictation. Voice recognition software translates “should have” to “should of” for some wacky reason. I hope everyone’s talking to text, otherwise our schools are failing us.

I love Cissy, her voice is amazing. I loved Elvis Presley too and that’s how I first learned & heard of Cissy and The Sweet Inspirations. Cissy reminds me of my mom, she’d kill for her kids, unfortunately, when it came to drugs they were both clueless on the signs and what to look for. I’ve always been a huge Whitney Houston fan since the beginning. There’s no one like her and no one has touched her greatness since. My heart aches for Ms Cissy, losing her daughter & granddaughter in such devastating ways. I know that Whitney didn’t do drugs because of Bobby Brown, but I often wonder how different her life would have been if she married Eddie Murphy or even Robyn. Bobby caused Whitney so much pain & embarrassment, I just wish she didn’t waste so much time with him. She was too good for him and I honestly wish she would have found her true happiness elsewhere. New Edition...Please!QUESTION: Which one’s Bobby Brown? ANSWER: The ugly one. #RIPWhitneyHouston #RIPBobbiKristina 🙏🏼

Thegazelle1000 She stayed with him too long for all the wrong reasons. Many women do this, she sacrificed herself & her own life & happiness for him. I think if she was with someone who actually loved her & was faithful she wouldn’t have ran to the drugs. Whitney Houston’s story ended so badly & unfortunately it didn’t have to. She would have been better off alone.

Insomniac. Sad but true. She would have overcome her drug issue if an extra burden wasn’t added to her life. Look at Chaka khan, she did drugs for many years as well but she got clean because she took time for herself and her voice still sounds good. Whitney didn’t have time to care for herself with everyone depending on her. I could never understand how she threw away her dreams for a worthless man.

I am Me We can’t say that for sure. I know, I’ve had my own experiences with drugs, and like Elvis Presley, sometimes a person just really loves the drugs, even more than they love themselves. Sad, I know, but it’s true. I wish Elvis & Whitney were both here. They died too young. He was 42 and she was 48, both so talented and had so much to live for.

First I would like to thank you for sharing this book of such personal experiences through life struggles and greatest moments of a child life that was lost. When she first was introduce I liked her but not as much as I do now. I to never took interest in the tabloids that just wanted to magnify the trials that she was going through. I know as a mother myself I feel the same way as you have shared. This book felt as if it was talking about me and my children. My respect and love for. Whitney is even greater now then ever before. She is the best singer of all time in the past and future. I believe without your faith and up bringing I don't know how you could have survive this tremendous lost. She was beautiful then and is still now. I am grateful I was able to witness such talent, beauty, and kindness of a person that wanted to share her blessing.. My love has increased so much today that I won't go to bed without listening to her singing her song. Lastly I know that God is more real now than ever and a reminder that he got you too as you suffer the greatest pain anyone can endure. May peace be with you and your family.

I just want to thank Cissy Houston for this book, for sharing mostly all their family life, with us, esp. hers, and Whitney. Hearing about Whitney's growing up years it's like I was sharing her childhood being there as I envisioned her in the scene, the narrator was reading on I could just picture her happy face, because she just seemed like a naturally happy person. That scene where that coat hanger got caught in her throat was terrible, for her. I can imagine the excruciating pain she must have felt. I then thought that pain may have connected to her later success, because I have heard several people who had a trauma as a child, and later became successful, like Oprah, and Ivanya. For those who don't know God turns a bad thing, into a good thing. I really liked how Cissy was with Whitney, as she was taking those first baby steps, after signing with Clive, and how she made them change her wardrobe, because she wasn't trying to sell her body, she had a gift to sing. Loved that. I really just liked how she would talk to Whitney, to help her understand things that was puzzling her. She talked so well I thought she would have made a wonderful CEO record producer. It just seem like if Cissy could have stayed close by Whitney through all those years, a lot of those things just wouldn't have happened. But I realize Whitney wanted to be grown, and that's how I was, I would have sent my mom packing, and just let me make my own mistakes. And I made plenty, but a mama just have to cut the apron strings, and let the bird fly on their own. I'm enjoying this narrator reading this so much. This is about my 3rd day, just at 3:38:46. I listen as I work, get sleepy, and come back the next day. The last audiobook that engrossed me like this was Iceberg Slim, and it took me a week to finish. I am so impressed with Cissy's bookwriting skills. I don't know what it is about singers of the 60s, like Cissy, Tina, Ms.Robbie, not only could they sing, but was multitalented in other areas. They're sharp. Mrs. Cissy Houston I just want to tell you that you're a wonderful mother, and you did a beautiful job raising Whitney. You lost a daughter, and for many of us, we lost a friend. And Bobbie Kristina is like our little sister, so there's still sadness, within us, for them both, perhaps till we get a clear picture of what happened. It's just been too much shady dealings going on in Hollywood, that we don't fall for the okey dokey. Which is why we research, and listen to tapes about them, and some dots start getting connected. You're such a strong woman that God has equipped for this. You may be strong, but I still feel your pain, and I love you.✌🏽❤🙏🏻Rest in PARADISE Whitney Houston ❤Bobbie Kristina ✌🏽🌷🌲🎵

No she wasn't. She was insecure about her acting and being good for a movie. That's what he meant. Whitney knew she was beautiful. And she always knew she could sing. She was most confident about her gift of singing. Even Robyn and the tv sitcoms she auditioned for said that she manifested her singing career early on.

I truly loved Whitney & her voice which was a God gift. Whitney went through her trials & Cissy definitely gave her a God & Jesus Christ rooted foundation. I pray Whitney, was given a chance to renew her faith & salvation prior to her death, even if she just cried out Jesus!! I know he loved her & all of us. Jesus made it so simple for us to return to him. However, I still have this question lingering in the back of my mind to this day. The statement which Bobby Brown’s sister Leolah made ” Whitney, have would never taken a bath in any hotel bathtub”

You must have missed something, he did work. He was in the service and had some kind of position in Newark.....before he & Cissy got married. He was working when she met him. Once she started traveling & moving around doing back up singing, it was paying better, bringing in more money than the job he had. So he stayed home with the kids while she traveled, so the kids didn't have to be looked after by other people.

@@ralphkramden2089 yep, it's right in her book! John used to drive taxi & trucks after the military & when he met Cissy. After they got together, he was the stay at home parent but would sometimes go on the road with her....that is when Aunt Bae & sometimes their friend Phyllis, from the projects, would watch the kids for 4 & 5 wks at a time. I believe Gary, Michael, & Whitney may have been exposed to a lot of stuff & possibly influenced by some people (drug scenes). There's really no telling what all Whitney, as an only girl & the baby, may have went through or dealt with......that has haunted her all throughout her life. Gary admitted in a documentary his first time experiencing heroin at age 9 & 10. That had to be a much older teen or adult with that influence......Cissy on the road all the time. The kids felt abandoned when they were young.....they couldn't understand it! This left a dent in their lives. The demons they all grew up with & struggled with throughout their adult lives......they all ended up on powerful drugs....at very young ages.

@@passionfashions3018 ... Whitney is one of my faves of all time 💯 I don't think anything is wrong in what you said , & I know it's not to take anything away from Mrs. Cissy Houston parenting or Love she has for her Child , because we can all see they were very close & Loved each other unconditionally , I know what you mean sis I also wish she could've done more ( not being disrespectful ) we know Whitney didn't let her mom in to her trials & tribulations to protect her mom & not wanting her mom to see her different & Mrs. Cissy wanted to respect her Marriage/ Child's wishes not wanting to Lose her completely by coming off over bearing ,cause in so many words she said although she really didn't care for Robin, she wasn't going to end up not being around her daughter at all just cause so by her saying that you know she stayed out of things & from watching Houston's On Our Own ( after Whitney's passing) you can see Bobby Kristina was in a deep depression & was taking serious drugs & although they all seen it ( uncle Gary, aunt Pat, her bro who was Whitney's body guard & her cousin who was Whitney's assistant don't remember their names) they voiced their Opinions on not liking Nick & his motives etc. , I wish would've went harder , but it's not to come from a bad place just out of Love ...

Whitney was so pretty, as a child, and the blossom never stopped blooming. She was one unique person. I'm not putting her on a pedestal, either, it's just there's something, about her we can learn from. Like she was sent for that reason. My heart was definitely with Cissy, at the funeral, as well as with Bobbi Kristina, but esp. with Cissy, the mother of this superstar. God reveals things to us, at a later time, at a sudden death like this that will give you a better perspective, to where you can, at least breath, a little better. Though that hole never fully closes, in your heart, completely. That's just something we all have to deal with, with loss of loved one, and all you can do to fill that void, is with good memories, and lots of prayer. It wasn't till a few years later, watching, The Houston, that it dawned on me the devastation this caused to the precious heart, of Bobbi Kristina, seeing her go through depression, off and on, depending on who she was around. But I did feel for her, imagining losing a superstar mama, like Whitney, who was also a very good person. I sure commend Cissy, for writing this book. I tell family who're grieving over a loss, one good way to deal with the pain is to just write all you remember about them. And you'll be surprised at how many good memories will come to you.✌🏽Rest in PARADISE Whitney Houston❤Bobbie Kristina ✌🏽❤🙏🏻

It is very sad how Whitney was judged. This never made things easy for her. She never needed that at time. Whitney was asked by Oprah about the song l look to you. Asked who she was looking to. She said MYSELF. She was very positive about conquering her problems, and finally be her own source of strength. Cissy you did more than a mother was expected to do. And the fact she could always call you when in a serious problems means she always believed in you. Like a second god. You are an amazing super woman. You are blessed 💕💕💕💕💕
