Justin is the best guitar teacher on the internet. He understands it from the learners point of view, explaining things very well and understanding the common pitfalls. Big plus, there's none of that boring droning on and on that some less professional guys do. He just gets on with it, without wasting your time. There are loads of videos in many styles that are worth checking out.

Justin you are the best on the web!!! You not only get the chords and fingering but also the intent and the soul of the tune. Many get the music okay but not RIGHT! Like your teaching style.

Great lesson man! Looking forward to teaching my students a simple version of this and I will send the guitarist your way:) I have been listening closely and I think you're absolutely right! The guitar doesn't play that "extra note" in the B-part of the song (except maybe once or twice). It's the bass and the organ, that play extra notes.The bass differs between Bb and G. In the last B-part it's distinctly only the bass playing that extra note, since the organ is soloing. Thanks a lot :D

Justin, very nice tutorial once again. FYI - In Leo Nocentelli's own video of how he plays the "B" section riff ( and supposedly how he wrote and recorded it), he uses that G note on the 4th string before the C note on 3rd string, as you explained in your "variations on" comments. It is hard to tell from the original track if it's a guitar or organ playing that G. Seems like it's not always the same and that it's played as kind of a ghost note, or grace note. I like it as simple as possible, which is the beauty of the tune. Spacious, lots of room for it to breathe. I also hear the harmony notes you mention. Definitely there, but not sure whether it's a guitar or the organ. This is a great jam song and I think you're spot on with the correct note and rhythms. Thank you!

Great lesson! In the verse riff, two notes are played on the low E string. One is the lowest note in the riff, G (3rd fret), and the other is A (5th). When I tried to work this out by ear before seeing this lesson, I was playing Bb at the 6th fret. The song seems to be in Cm (googling), which would suggest Bb, so should it be 5th or 6th fret? I am not a trained musician at all, not trying to be a smart alec. These lessons are very clear and helpful, am a big fan.
@FredForestArt Жыл бұрын
I also played it at the 6th fret. It just sounds better. But I do play the 5th fret after playing the 3rd fret on the A string

@@shivmehta1481 He has a humbucker in the bridge position. You can coil split that to be a single coil pickup. The tone is a Strat through a clean amp.

Without getting into the details how I know, that will sound like bragging- please allow me to help explain 2 points. 1) The second riff is wrong. The ‘variation’ you teach is THE actual second riff. This is important as Ive seen him have to explain it over and over to different cats because most keyboardists and bassists play it wrong. Again: Your ‘variation’ IS the correct riff. 2) Part three. Leo never swings his arm up and down all wild like youre doing. His palm stays pretty much anchored on the bridge and the chika sound is not such a big movement, it all takes place over a few strings. Watching up close you can see its a lite touch, not heavy handed at all but very deliberate. His rhythm is truly amazing- no one else comes close. Anyway, hope that helps.

Hellooo, I know that what I’m about to say is completely irrelevant to the video, but I want you guys to know that you are dearly loved by God. As humans we have all sinned, it is written in: Romans 3:23 “ For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Our sins have a consequence in the afterlife, and it is hell according to Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…” if so, how does God love us if our destination is hell? As Romans 6:23 continues “but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus.” This is how God showed His for us, that even though we rebelled against Him-His love and compassion for us remains(Romans 5:8). This gift can be accepted through declaring with our mouth that “Jesus is Lord” and believing in our heart that God raise Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This salvation is not like a salary in which you’re obligated to work for the sake of getting it, this salvation is already worked by God-the only thing that’s left to do is accept it and repent of our sins.
