When equally trained you might be right, still when i trained with olympiads as a teenager, there were a bunch of slightly older females that wiped the mat with me. Them equally being smaller and lighter or much bigger. Over time, after training a lot more and more, this became less a thing, still no matter the gender, when well trained, you better never underestemate an opponent. Also these are movies, its all fiction anyways. I would say if your head canon can't take strong women, its more of a you problem than a problem of what you are watching.

I did some stuntman work for a low budget independent Batwoman fan film. The actor was probably as petite as this actor shown here. There was a scene where she takes me down and "brutally" punches me in the side of my head/face area, for around 10 to 15 punches. I wanted it to look as real as possible so I insisted she hit me in the face, side of my head, etc as hard as she can, repeatedly. They asked if I wanted padding and I refused, cuz that's how I roll. Anyway, there were, 8 takes, times 15 punches from her to my dome each time and wasnt phased at all. I could have easily gone another 20 takes if needed. Now and I'm not a superhuman or have a metal plate in my head, and I'm certainly not humble-bragging that I'm some tough hotshit sonofabitch. My point, is that any person, with barely any athletically toned muscle that stands 5'4" is not capable of the violent action necessary to incapacitate a target. Even with extensive mixed martial arts training muscle and 3% body fat, the only way you're doing damage to some Goon that's 6'2" 260lb is with well executed throat strikes, knife elbows to the temple, eye gouges, or a solid grab-twist-pull on the genitals. All that is assuming the target isn't also trained and defending themselves. I'm all for empowering women, giving little girls role models or alternative perspective heroes to look up to or admire but at least offer a supernatural, or scifi explanation why a petite young girl has the ability to do what she's doing. Or say she has some kinda crazy ass pcp adrenaline drug or something. Otherwise, it just looks really silly and suspends the audiences disbelief and ruins the whole movie.
