Thanks for this interview. You have talked to a man whose think is clear. A hardworking soldier. He seems to have been lucky as well in that zanu did not target him for torture. But yes, what a man, a hero we can all be proud of and emulate in our own struggles. Thanks Mzaca, thanks Mathe. Siyalibonga bakwethu. INkosi ibenani. Zenzele you should be thinking of writing a serious book at some point. Ngoba I’m sure you are now at a point where you can see the Zipra story very clearly. Siyabonga.

Best interview, Mhlomishwa still look so strong way better than the current Army Officers. I love the fact that ZPRA slept on Duty, probably the Leadership had no option as these Nyereres were working with the British to neutralise ZPRA, l think even if ZPRA saw what was coming the web was already knitted, SA Britain, ZANU had formed an alliance. British could bring Common World Countries to fight ZPRA anywhere. ZPRA was isolated and as Mhlomishwa say the Leadership fell for the trap. One of the weakest additions to ZPRA was discipline, they became discipline and obedient even when it was no longer necessary. The conditions then demanded to tie all knots and read the meaning, and they couldn't.

Thank you Zenzele for these interviews. I’m enlightened.Surely ZAPU and Zipra deserved more than what they got after independence. We know what party was full of tribalism and segregation. We know the fight for power in one party has existed since its formation. We know it’s not about the people but themselves and their inner circle.Their hands are full of blood and they will never have a happy ending.God is for us all.

Very touching story above by this guy Ndimande Albert Mathe. I have a few things to point out Zenzele, During your interviews please ask your participants to give both names ie "Guerilla names as well as their original names. You can also ask them to tell us or describe to us how they fought and where rather than to say "Zakhala". They should not rush to finish their story but must be thorough. Thank-you

Mathe watch this movie on Netflix “The Siege of Jadotville “ I think no matter how many times Zipra tells stories they will not change our present which was a lack of foresight from Zapu/Zipra. For reflection and learning about our probably will be a beginning for our struggle to fight for Mthwakazi

How should they have approached things in your view? In the end it would always come down to a clash of ideology with zanu unless zaph was prepared to.merge and be absorbed by zanu as ultimately happened

Nkomo didn’t want another war he was very very tired and wanted to rest there was so much blood spilt from Rhodesia to Zimbabwe too much for him. He thought mugabe was a gentleman and would not arrest any one from zipra as well zipra didn’t want rubbish and more they wanted to rest but mugabe caught them resting and he off loaded hell upon zipra and zipra being a powerful fighting force never took zanu pf seriously by the time zipra lifted up its head to pick up arms most of them are arrested locked up and even killed so umdala was a man with principal and dignity and didn’t want a repeat of the war he stood by thinking that the western worlds where going to react and forgot that mugabe was their best friend for a little while and Nkomo their enemy so that is why we are in this mess of a Zimbabwe wasted destroyed . Let’s look forward and rebuild our broken nation by tell our youth children the real truth of what Lookout Masuku died for why UMalinga saw a black dog on the road and died

My question to Zipra is why then did you think that cease fire joining them will be peaceful? This is where the mistake was from Zipra side or Zapu leadership...If there was always tension during that period, this should have came into your minds that you will suffer once you agree on cease fire.
