For initial placement, I like 5-8-10 right to wheat port and 9-10-11 city to get instant knight and lots of future commodity cards. Now to watch your game... always love the comment, especially the F-bombs. Lol

C+K is so much more complicated than base game and is therefore ripe for blunders. Basically, it is perfect for your channel.

I like you’re idea, my only concern with those placements is the lack of paper, but once getting on wheat port that should solve that issue, also instant knights are very good as you mention!

I can never go back to the base game unless I'm playing with a new player... The sheer amount of different strategies to win in C&K compared to the base game makes it so much more competitive and I find that there's a much more difficult learning curve compared to the base game.

I think that C&K greatest strength as you mentioned it being more complicated also becomes its greatest downfall for me personally. I like the complex aspect of it but I find it’s so much more difficult to dedicate your time to playing it as games take 2-3 times as long. I enjoy it but find it a little too tedious sometimes.

@@catanblunders5113 That’s a fair point. It is definitely more time consuming and when you’re playing against players who aren’t very quick, the game can drag on for hours. It’s also one of those games where if someone gets ahead quickly (LR, metro, defender), it makes it almost impossible to overcome. Like you said, it’s sometimes really fun and sometimes feels so long/hopeless that you get less invested and keep pressing “pass dice”.

Very good points. I myself am guilty of taking lots of time on my turns, because there’s so much going on in C&K I find it difficult to play fast

I used to love C&K and played it all the time. It definitely makes for a longer game. Hopefully my friends who are new to Settlers will be up for it one day.

I have a love hate relationship with cities and knights, it’s an awesome expansion but can be very gruelling sometimes. I plan on playing it a lot more now

I once destroyed my opponents in a 4 player game in 20 minutes. Recently I fought for 2.5 hours to make it to second. Lol. The dice giveth. And the dice taketh.

32:50 you could have taken the green metro by trading in wheat + ore. IDK if you saw that.

I actually did notice that, but thought a city was better there because there wasn’t much threat of someone else taking green metro at that point, also think taking green metro would’ve made me a bigger target, but I already kinda was a target at that point so. Always good to weigh options!
