I would definitely consider moving the farming out to the furthest reaches of the city! It seems like you have equal portions of downtown, medium density, and suburbs at the moments, when suburbs normally would take up the entire outer ring of your city and the farms/forestry out in the the countryside. That's just a recommendation though, you have a pretty clear plan of what you want to do already and it looks fantastic overall!
@Odysseusfields9 жыл бұрын
Maybe you should disconnect the water from the grid and give them their own power permanently that way the water never shuts off for any reason.

You should remove the power lines leading to your pumps. With the wind turbines, the only needed connection is for water, which you already have. Something similar would also work really good with the sewage area...

Flux you're definitely one of the top KZbinrs for CS, if not the top one. It's great the way you plan things out explain why you did what you did, whilst makng everything look really good as well. Great vids and thanks :-)

Oh man, i thought of a great idea. Not sure if possible for a mod to do, but toll roads would be awesome. Like how there would be loads of traffic if you connected the cities by road. You could put a toll on that road, so people either pay the toll or they take the highway. That would be sick.

So I've been kind of binge watching this over the past couple days and it really is probably the best youtube series out there- you should consider a career in GIS/Geomatics or Urban Planning. lol I actually worried about the nuclear risk when you were first building it. My suggestion would be to redesign the nuclear area. Consider building a small dam near the nuclear power plant and relocating a water pump to feed the nuclear power plant independently of the rest of the grid. Building a dam would do two things: 1- I think it would look cool aesthetically because it would create a reservoir that the water pump can source from. 2- it would produce enough power to not only power the water pump but also the police and fire stations independently from the rest of the grid. I would look into downloading fence mods and I know theres a mod for a 'security pole barrier' road gate. You could fence off this new security zone. Have the police station next to the entrance and the fire station next to the nuke. Add parking and maybe some substations and transformers. or security lighting Also theres a mod for a nuclear station that actually has steam coming out of the condensing towers. Nuclear power needs A LOT of water. You said it was kind of weird seeing a nuclear next to a river. Nuclear power generation is almost always next to massive bodies of water, look up Bruce Generation Station (currently the largest in the world.) The middle of nowhere on a huge lake. (no condensing towers cause CANDU design and the lake does the job of getting rid of waste heat) Keep ether a farm or greenbelt buffer zone from this sector. Awesome city! great series

The reason the fire trucks are taking the route that they are is because the station is inside the intersection and it doesn't look like the trucks can go through the intersection and can only leave right to turn around. To improve response time, I'd delete that stub road, or move the fire station so that they don't have to take such longer routes. I'd also put a turbine or two near your drainage pipes/water treatment plants so that they also get priority over other electricity customers, just so that in another emergency you don't get a sewage problem. I use a Logitech G510s for my keyboard, which uses their rubber dome switches. As much as I might like to use a mechanical keyboard, the mechanical switches are just too noisy for me for general use (even the quietest switches are still too loud), and not wanting to disturb those who might be around me, and even more so I wouldn't want to use it while recording. With that said, I've been using Logitech Keyboards for a long time, so they feel natural for me nonetheless.

It is so easy to take your eye off the ball when developing new areas especially once the city becomes big! I've made that mistake more than once, I try to pause but get so wrapped up I can easily forget- a bit like forgetting to do a regular save then losing an hour of great work- yep that sinking feeling! Liking the relaxed formality of new suburb plan. Love the aesthetic improvements achieved with trees but the city would benefit from balancing with more open green spaces. In some of your heavily wooded areas (pedestrian walkways and around the bus station) you've created a muggers paradise! Do you plan to have an industrial zone?

RE: Nuclear Power Plant/ Water shortage.. Would it be prudent to put a dedicated water supply intake near your NPP? Water takes some time to travel and if you have an intake near your Nuclear Plant, it would get water first, from that intake. A small power supply for the intake would help it from losing power. (Water-borne windmill?) Just a thought, that you might have already done, but I'm waay back here at this episode... (hard to watch an entire series and then go back and make comments, so apologies if this is a moot suggestion.) Continuing to love the series...
