Hi James: I also have a Citizen Miami bike (green with black fenders) that u bought 2nd hand. I have ordered 9:32 the rear rack from Citizen (the rack mount points are unique to their bikes - generic 20" racks will not attach) I plan to repaint the rack gloss black - as you mentioned in your video - to match the fenders. Nice bike!

Hello, thanks for your reply. Yes definitely paint the rack black, it matches nicely. Have fun with your Miami!

I remember a few years ago I bought the Miami, I had the army green one with the black Tires and also added the seat as well. They are good little bikes, however as noted in the video I would change out the cheap tires that come with it. I would go with Schwalbe Big apple tires. They are balloon tires meant for bikes like these which are basically geared as cruisers. Also if you want to commute with it make sure your commute is not very far. The 20 inch tires mean you don't gobble up real estate as quick as a 26 inch tire. Get ready to pedal a lot. In retrospect I would go for a Dahon or a Tern folding bike. Mechanically they are sturdier and made of parts that aren't as cheap. The Miami I had started having issues with the main folding clamp which held the bike together right away. I rode it quite a bit but I eventually sold it as I just did not want to deal with the maintenance of fixing clamps and finding replacement parts for it.

Dropkickpunk76 Yes you are correct, a lot of pedaling is required even at high gears, however if anyone out there is just going to use it for casual riding, recreation around the park or neighborhood, this bike will be just fine, no need to spend thousands and these bikes look great, lol.

I picked up a barely used, year old Miami, in red with brown stock tires, for a scant $175. Mine has the upgraded seat, rack, pump and bike lock. The only thing it doesn't have is the water bottle holder, but that's no biggie. It rides real nice and smooth shifting. Compared to the junk I've been riding, this is far better despite it being nearly the same weight. My 11 yr old son loves it. Rides similar to his BMX bike but smoother. I'm not a fan of the grips, however I wear bike gloves regardless of what I'm riding (keeps my hands from hurting).

Good deal! The water bottle holder you can pick up at any Walmart or target for fairly cheap. I got mine from Walmart for $5.00 and it works perfect

@@jamesakaflcruzr4277 I ended up ordering it along with the rear rack bag and had to order the frame rest from Citizen. My bike was missing the frame rest. Luckily, Citizen's HQ is 30 minutes from home, so I took the bike down there. Good thing I did. The bracket holes did not line up. My bike was made in 2020 and they made a modification to the bracket and hole locations. They do not make brackets that fit my bike, so they had to use a Dremel to lengthen the slots to line up with the holes. It's worth noting that the current frame rest part will not fit older bikes.

I like the idea of a rear rack, and painting it black to match the fenders would look great. On my previous bike I mounted a handlebar extension to mount a GoPro camera. Lots of fun to play back the videos taken during a ride. You can be creative by changing out the location of the cam from the front to the back and even down low on the forks(front and back). Having more than one cam attached, rather than changing positions all the time would be great, but, unfortunately, I don’t belong to the “heavy wallet brigade.” 😊

Thanks, I bought a handlebar extender but was defective so will have to get a new one. Looking to add a camera mount as well.

@@jamesakaflcruzr4277 it seems, these days, that a lot of things we purchase end up defective or break down after a short period of time. One reason why I’m a bit hesitant on that final click of the mouse to order the Miami. A bit concerned that someone might be amiss or broken. Then the issue of. returning it. One reason I’m trying to watch as many reviews as possible. I’m glad yours turned out well for you.

@@jamesakaflcruzr4277 glad to hear that. I've got a call out to them. They are not available to answer personally, so I'm hoping they call soon. I want to find out about their muffin tires. Apparently solid tires don't roll as well as a regular air filled tire. Also, if I can have the internal geared hub installed.

Great video! Thanks! however, I have a couple questions; do you think it's suitable for NYC? And is it comfortable enough for 30 minutes commute? And lastly, would you consider it heavy for women? Thank you very much!
@jamesakaflcruzr42774 жыл бұрын
Rima Askin I used to live in NY (Brooklyn) and this bike would have been great for city commuting. The bike is about 35 pounds, it is on the heavier side compared to other higher end brands available. If weight is a factor I would suggest looking elsewhere.

I owned a citizen tokyo bike. Its my daily commuter. Parts starts to wear off easily, but bike is pretty durable like the frame. I think the rest of the parts they used in the bike were made in China. I'm having regrets of getting a Miami. The Tokyo is so slow and not stable of riding over bumps and pot holes. A Miami might solve my issue.

My dad's getting this one and I'm wondering, how much do you weigh, ballpark? I know it says 220 is the "limit" but I'm wondering if that has some give to it because my dad's real close to that. Does it feel like it holds it's weight evenly? Thanks biker dad 👍

I love this bike! i'm contemplating if going for the Tokyo or Miami...Tokyo seams a bit lighter. Any other good reason why you chose Miami? :) I would add a their cool folding basket instead of the rack :))
@jamesakaflcruzr42774 жыл бұрын
Mint11 I had the Tokyo model first but found it too small for my liking. The 20inch is more comfortable for longer rides. I believe they are about a five pound difference. Depends what you want out of the bike. I personally would recommend the Miami for its comfort and versatility. Good luck!

.... I'm confused about why you never actually *fold* the folding bike, your videos...? To me that would be the most obvious and helpful thing to do, to demonstrate it to everybody, how best to do so most effectively, and what the easiest way is to roll it while folded.
