"Like you were born just to be scared?" I feel like I've always lived my life like a catastrophe is about to happen any moment. Can't remember when I wasn't afraid, if I ever felt safe. I thought that, when I become an adult and am independent, things will get better for sure but somehow I just keep experiencing the same things from childhood. Recently found out that I have CPTSD and at least now I can name what I'm going through, but it's been really rough lately and I feel like life will never be okay. I want to experience things like everyone else and be happy, but I feel like I'm messed up beyond repair. I don't know how to be okay. But when I'm at my absolute worst, I go to your songs, because they remind me that I'm not alone and it truly feels like someone out there understands and cares. And like maybe things can still be okay someday. Can't express enough how grateful I am for your music.

Have you ever felt lost like you don’t matter at all like you were born just to be scared All this fear deep inside does it burn to the surface leaving you gasping for air Now you’re walking alone it’s all that you’ve ever known so sick of being the one betrayed If you just take one more chance if you just open your eyes you’ll find the purpose in your pain Oh I know there is purpose in your pain Do you feel already dead like you have no reasons left standing on the edge and finally looking down Like a candle in the night fighting just to stay alive I know you still can’t see but hold onto me you will be found Now the pulse of your heart is it just way too heavy does the way to the world hold you down Is the world celebrating while you’re there suffocating no shred of sympathy to be found Now your face down in the dirt you think it’s what you deserve but even when this life is cold You’ve got to be strong somehow rise from the dust your story needs to be told Do you feel already dead like you have no reasons left standing on the edge and finally looking down Like a candle in the night fighting just to stay alive I know you still can’t see but hold onto me you will be found You will be found you will be saved just hear me now I felt the same you will be broken but never to pieces keep holding on there’s always a reason Do you feel already dead like you have no reasons left standing on the edge and finally looking down Like a candle in the night fighting just to stay alive I know you still can’t see but hold onto me you will be found

"Sometimes it feels like there's not point at all. In breathing, living, fighting." I send that to my friend yesterday. For years and even all my entire life I had to fight with mental illness and massive want to just give up all the world. Yet, I still here. Can't say I never tried to change that fact, but never succeed. Slowly realizing it is maybe a good thing. Living is hard and sometimes it feels like it does not even deserve all the efforts. That feeling of hopelessness and loneliness keep running in the head and heart. But that song speaks to me. I can't even say how much this is beautiful to write a song for your fans that struggling and explained to you what they go through. This is beyond words. And I'm so glad KZbin recommended me Weight of the world so I discovered this amazing band.

I found you, this song when I felt like I was at my lowest. I was going in a spiraling downhill with my depression. I wasn’t eating. My girlfriend at the time left me. I was heartbroken. And with everything I’ve been going through in my life... I felt completely numb. I felt like I had no one beside me. I had so many thoughts going through my head I became mentally numb. I was giving up on myself. But then I listened to this song. It took a couple times listening to it for me too completely realize that there is purpose in my pain. Right after listening to this I finally reached out. I thank those who I reached out too about what I’m going through. Because they made it surely known that they are on my side. That the pain I was going through may not pass but it will make me stronger than I have been in the past. I love you Citizen Soldier!! You do not understand how much I appreciate your music and how this song has saved my life. ❤️

This band does sometbing that i dont think any other band seeking to support the lost and hurting does. At least not the ones ive found. You (the band) address us where we are, not where we hope to be or as what we want to be. So many christain bands come at it with the message of "God has it under control" and "God is holding you. And there are other messages like the casting crowns song praise you in this storm. And they are really good messages that im glad i heard. But sometimes, you just need to be understood. You dont need someone telling you to hang in there because it will get better. So often those feel so insincere and cold, just an automatic response when all you really need is to be genuinely understood.

I'm curious, you guys seem really well connected to mental health and to fully understand how is a person feeling and their way of thinking when they're going through a tough time, does this understanding come from your own experiences? Anywho this one is my favorite, "there is purpose in your pain" means so much to me, I've endured way more pain than I have happiness in my 23 years but you guys really make ready to face more pain, instead of giving into it and ending it all, because you make me know it will be worth it if I fight through it, but it won't be if I don't. These gents are simply amazing! Your lyrics speak to so many people on many different levels. I wish I knew how to tell my story, I believe it could help others, sadly I'm not capable to do so. But your music does what I cannot. I love every song I've ever heard. You reply to your fans too which is exceptionally amazing! Be it here or Facebook, I know I'm not alone. Thank you so very much, I've said it before (via Facebook) you're music saved me, my children still have their Dad, and my wife still has her husband ❤️

I lived 50+ years consumed by pain and hurt, but there was a purpose for it as with everything we suffer through. God took my mess and turned it into a message, my trauma into a testimony, and my scars into a story that needed to be told. If I wouldn't have endured this very long suffering, how could I ever be able to effectively help victims of child sex-trafficking or those with depression, suicidal ideologies, loss, hurt, pain, abuse and abandonment? I could have never genuinely been able to tell those going through the same thing that I know what their going through and mean it. It's hard to help anyone if you haven't been there and that is the purpose of your pain. If I can save one life, then to me, it was worth it and I'd do it all over again if I had to.

As one who has battled seizures for 11 years as well as the depression and anxiety that comes with it, it feels like all im experiencing is all i will ever know. Songs like this help me turn from being pesimistic to optimistic. Thank you citizen solider for reminding me that hope is a beautiful thing.

Man, I can listen to this and “Let it Burn” and “Not alone” by Red. “Life Starts Now” Three Days Grace. Even when I feel like giving up hope and that darkness takes over me. Gives me hope to keep going no matter what. No matter what hell comes our way-you don’t know the sun will shine. Or if you’re alone in the dark-can’t find your way. Maybe you’re not-you know what they say. There could be a light in the end of a tunnel.
