I have a good amount in but not any where close as many guys. I been part of game testing and building and know it doesn’t happen over night and specially at the level this game will be. When this game releases so many of those haters are going to be rushing on board. We’re kinda playing catch-up. The progress we’ve made since 2007’s Crysis is very small. This is where we should have been at for a while if innovation kept up and companies would stop recycling for money. CIG is one of the only companies to actually be trying new things and pushing boundaries! My hope is that they sell a lot of the tech they’ve developed so gaming as a whole can progress greatly.
@G4M5T3R6 жыл бұрын
@Shawn McDermott Hardware is a part of that equation, not just innovation from devs/designers utilizing hardware. Intel/Nvidia/AMD are just as much at fault for the lackluster progression in the industry.

people need to think before they cry about sc and its 6 yr development being red dead redemption has taken 8 yrs and still going for a lot smaller game
@Meister_Dwight6 жыл бұрын
deathsmessenger Not to mention this game involves massive engine rewriting and new technology for a multiplayer game of this scale. It’s groundbreaking! People are impatient because you can actually watch development happen and nobody has any patience. If RDR 2 was open like this during development, people would be doing the same thing 4 years into its development. And keep in mind that game started with a huge studio and budget behind it. CIG started with like 12 people lol. They’ve had to open offices across the globe and hire hundreds of people. Massive undertaking.

And if you put it against any true AAA good game most of them was not made over night. 7-14 years for some. The only games that come out in a year or two tend to be cookie cutter games that are a dime a dozen and don’t last long before they get replaced. I see this as going to be the next EVE and more.

@@Alan0000able Given the video is only a year and a half old and your original comment is 4 months old. When you commented the video was barely a year old. Your sense of time is off friend. Though progress is definitely slow there is still progress being made. The showed us quantum the simulated economy system. icache is slightly implemented, server meshing is the current priority. My faith isn't blind in this game, honestly I don't have much towards it. However, I don't go running around in a year old comment session trying to convince others that they shouldn't believe in it. I don't waist my time trying to needlessly crush other peoples dreams. It might not come out, but saying it's a scam is an idiotic statement at best. They are making progress, and the game might come out one day. But if it doesn't it wasn't because it was a scam, however it would be because of poor management and money usage.

Awesome work CIG, I see some comments stating SC is playing catchup and comparing to CRYSIS. The BIG difference is SC will not be causing people to say, "Can it run SC?" The whole presentation was explaining how they get quality and using programmatic rendering to cut down on the resources of a PC. Which means all types of machines low end to ultra high end will be able to play this game at relative stunning visuals for their rig.

Curious about how different physique generation will work. So much detail and so many characters can't share the same body or the same animations(ala GTA 5). Also hope they take the equiapped item collision into consideration - weaponry clipping through character and other equipment has plagued all MMO's since their origins.

Still have some questions about Squadron 42: 1. Will more focus be on flying, FPS, or about equal 2: From my understanding, there will be branching narratives to the story. Will it be similar to a Mass Effect 1 style RPG? 3: Probably the least important question, but will we be able to scan our faces and use them as our avatar, similar as to how EA did with EA Game Face (UFC and FIFA series)?
@kovenmaitreya71846 жыл бұрын
With FOIP they may have to do some kind of face scan in order to not have ridiculous looking faces like we have right now.
@phatec6 жыл бұрын
1. Focus will be on storyline, and leading up to the open universe in a linear manner. 2. Storyline will be more linear, Squadron 42 is basically an introduction to the game, it’s not meant to be a full on single player like mass effect which had all focus set in single player mode and story. 3. Yes, their goal is to allow players to scan through the dna character creator in future.

The problem with the Alien NPC's is that they want the other races to BE "other" races. Totally different skeletons, which leads to different ways of taking a step, walking, running, etc. None of the human mo-cap would work, and that was a huge time saver for animating humans. Animating aliens will have to be done the hard way, which is why the only animated Alien we've seen are the Vanduul. Other games like Mass Effect have just cheated to get aliens to walk differently, letting the character geometry clip through itself and just using a handful of canned animations, which constantly reveal themselves to be that by characters seeming to not be actually interacting with the floor while running, turning, jumping, climbing up inclines, etc. CIG doesn't want to do that, and not doing that is HARD, which is why so few games actually do it, especially multiplayer games. The fact that CIG has made character animations synced between everyone who can see a character just makes it even harder. Like so hard I don't think any other multiplayer game has actually done it, and it took CIG most of a year to do it themselves.

okay, i m not being mad at you, i just want to explain my opinion, it' s just because not everyone in the game development team do the same thing, some people are lead designer, someone is an art director, and someone else is a 3d modeller, in the latest ptu they release an uge improvement that boost fs by a lot, from 30- 40 fps to 60-90 (from my experience) plus it makes no sense spend too much time in optimization, since when tey'll add some new content it will probably make the game run bad again, they re optimizing the game just to make it playable for all the people who are testing it.
