I have a K&N cold air intake, Amazon exhaust and Power Commander 5 on my 2019 Z125 Pro. Pre tune I started out with 7.2 horsepower. After the dyno tuning I was at 8.73 horsepower. A gain of 21.25 percent in horsepower.

My new z125, $2600 total. My $200 cbr600, about $1500 after all repairs and new fluids, rubber, brakes. It's honestly better to get a second bike. Or in my case the z125 was the second bike to ride on.

Thanks for the brutal honesty! It helps a lot to hear this as im currently trying to decide what im gonna do to mine. I bought mine with an exhaust already on it, i think ill just swap out the sprocket to change the character and add the stiffer clutch springs and plate. Does this bike benefit from a straight up oil pump like the grom or nah? If so ill probably add that and the 12 bar. Thanks a lot

other than my 110 KLX pro taper bars , RSC easy clutch pull lever I've kept my 2018 all stock. I may think about trying a different sprocket later on but ideally I like how quiet and fun overall this is . spending mass amounts of money for little to no performance gains never made sense to me. besides that I've got other bikes to play with that fulfill my need for speed ( FZ09, WR450 F Supermoto ) and Hooliganism ...

Have you tried changing sprockets? Factory is 14 front 30 rear i get about 65mph. 15front 30 rear closer to 70 but loose torque. Best combo ive found is 15 front 32 rear get around 65-68 mph and decent torque.

Your RWHP is accurate. You need to remember there's typically a 12-18% drivetrain loss so I'd say you weren't under the curve. Either way, sounds like you had a good gain.

@1:49 I leaned towards and intimately got the Z125 because of the underbelly exhaust! It was between the Benelli 135; because of its bold exhaust and the Z125 because of its understated exhaust… I found a new Z125 (38 miles on the odometer) for $2500 total, while a new Benelli was going to cost me $4,420.58 OTD. On the Z125 I will never have anything other than an underbelly exhaust on it! I was looking into modifying the stock exhaust, but the header diameter is too small, so I just got a Competition Werkes GP exhaust… the only other underbelly exhaust available.

Hey man - just went down the rabbit hole watching all your Z125 videos. Seems like you had fun with it while you had it. SUPER curious one about thing though…when you got it tuned, did you leave the DB killer in? I recently purchased “Zoom” brand exhaust which came with a removable baffle. Literal night and day difference on how the bike accelerated with and without the baffle in (better without). I’d be curious to know if leaving the baffle in (if you did) when you got the tune done actually caused the inability to see a SLIGHTLY higher HP increase.

Thanks bro! Good video. Ive been focusing on mods like levers, pegs, grips, mirrors, led bulbs, quality of life and comfort stuff like that. The bike feels like a whole different bike, i have an exhaust coming tomorroe because i cant stand the sound and look of the stock exhaust. Was thinking about intake and fuel but honestly i think ill probably just skip on that stuff knowing that i think the money would be better spent on lther upgrades instead of power because its going to be slow no matter what lol

There is a new 155cc big bore kit out, with larger valve, head, injectors,stroker crank etc. With that and the essential 3 mods you can grab just under 15 horsepower. Also y'all gotta remember, the weight of that stock exhaust is like 15 lbs! I went carbon fiber and shaved 11 pounds off my bike. Power to weight ratio is everything. If you lose weight and gain horsepower, the dyno doesn't take that into consideration. But it definitely translates to the wheel. Another thing no one talks about is getting drastically lighter Wheels, ie; aluminum or carbon fiber. Imagine shaving 20 lbs off your bike right to the wheel.🤔

they say 1HP = about 7-8lbs... there's an easy 10-15lbs to take off that bike. I love my Z125. I wanna do the Hindle exhaust, but I ride it around town to pick/drop shit off, and go through some powerline type of "trails", so I want to keep it quiet. the stock exhaust weighs i think 8.5lbs. most aftermarkets are about 3.5-4.5lbs. I know the Hindle is 3.5. Check the Sportbike Track Gear videos. They put 3 or 4 different exhausts on it, and other little things it.

Change your gear ration, i took off the 15 tooth counter sproket and the 30 tooth drive sproket, and swapped them for the 14 tooth counter and 28 tooth drive. Was maxing out at 50 and not i max out 67 mph. And i haven't done any other upgrades yet.
@thefatmanmx
@thefatmanmx 3 жыл бұрын
Lol Unfortunately your gear ratios are lying to you. In fact your top speed will now be slightly lower than it was before. If you went -1/2+ your speedo will be off by quite a bit. Same speed just read higher by your speedo because it's programmed for stock gearing. You can use a speedohealer to get it to read accurately again. I know this from 12 years of riding and modding motorcycles. The gearing trick works like a charm on bigger bikes, but since these bikes are so small and their power is so limited it's not worth messing around with a good thing (the stock gearing). Best of lucks!

$867 for 1 HP? HELLLLLLL NOOOOOOO! And just like you said, you can't even feel it. And the only reason why you "still can't decide if it's worth it" is because your ego won't allow you to admit that you dumped $867 on worthless upgrades that only make a difference on paper. In other words, you're desperately trying to justify your expenditure so you won't bang your head against the wall for being a... well, let's keep it respectful here, but you know what I mean. It's OK though, we all have been there and will go there several times before we kick the bucket.

Kawasaki did us dirty with the Z125. So let me get this straight, the z400 has 48 horsepower. The z125 can't even pull 7hp. You do the math. 399cc has 6 times the horsepower but only three times the displacement. And then you do any real mods on the z400 and your gaining 5 to 7 horse easy. So 55 horsepower no problem. And it would cost you about the same as the mods on the z125 combined with the cost of the z125. Fully modded Z, 4,200$- 4,500$. LMAO. The cost of the z400 is $5,000, and it's fast enough to beat any Harley on the road easy. Thousand pound tanks, look good, and loud, but slow.

Mine is stock. Keeping it stock until someone finally beats me on track lol! 130/70/12 rear tire is best modification. Speedo is dead on with it. Also lifts rear a bit giving it aggressive superbike stance lol! I currently have 120/80/12 rear with 15t front sprocket and reads 3kmh less than actual. Still outruns all groms bar big bores. 20 some thousand kms of abuse, trackdays and wot for days, running great. No way I'm burning cash to upgrade it. Will likely engine swap it one day instead. Most fun bike of all I own and spectacular community surrounding it. Smiles for miles, all day every day. I am generally doing over 200km per tank before low fuel flash, and topping at around 100kmh. May need testing against gps for precise reading. Spectacular little machine.

@@czierwo Hmmm, makes sense. I currently get about 68 indicated (62 moh per phone) if I tuck on the freeway with feet on the rear pegs. It's my lucky day when I find a slow semi to draft. Would going to a 130 tire true up my gauge to actual ground speed and also gear it so I could get a couple more mph out of it before hitting the rev limiter? My goal would be to go 60 without tucking (no headwinds 😄).
@czierwo
@czierwo 4 ай бұрын
@@anothersomebody8195 same for me. With a traffic to draft, or good conditions in general when everything aligns perfect, I can bring it all the way to redline at around 66mph. Rarely tho. Usually between 60 and 64.
@czierwo
@czierwo 4 ай бұрын
@@anothersomebody8195 as per my personal "testing", 130 rear tire will stretch gearing perfectly enough to get speedo read true. Whether you can go faster with it or not depends on how heavy or bulky you are, etc. it's a tough ask from the tiny engine to get you up to 62 without tucking, or drafting. Don't think little engine has enough punch for it.
