Intussusception happens commonly in children and uncommonly in adults. In most cases in children it is because the thickened bowel of the ileum gets "sucked" into the colon and needs to be pushed out.
Sometimes the cause is more concerning and surgery will be needed. Especially in older kids and in adults.
In this video we're going to answer some important questions!
What is intussusception?
How do we classify intussusception?
Why does intussusception occur and in what patients?
What is the clinical presentation of intussusception in children?

What a fantastic lecture. One trick that I use for memorizing the anatomy: the intussusCIPIENs makes a reCIPIENt for the intussusceptum!

Not a question related to the topic but wondering if you write these lectures and read from a script. The presentation is so organized with so much information but the impression is that you are just speaking naturally.

@@citizensurgeonWell that is amazing! Even knowing the material inside out which you obviously do, to present that amount of information so clearly without notes is a talent in itself! We can add public speaking without notes to your long list of accomplishments.

Great lecture enjoyed it but I do have a question. I am never been clear on what a lead point really is how it functions is it like a magnet drawing the intestine into the other intestine could you explain the lead point mechanism a little more
