Has a potential of being a breakthrough automotive moment. Props for Citroen being again radical, lateral-thinking and minimalistic, which is what the Double Chevron was always all about. If you manage to make the production model sub-1000kg dry weight, it is going to be truly revolutionary and significant (even if the range is not stellar in today's standards - most people need 150-180 kms of real range for their urban/sub-urban usage - what really counts with BEVs is the convenience & speed of recharging. I find this concept wonderfully refreshing and opposed to the current non-sensical & lethal "race to the bottom" with the current vulgar BEVs (in terms of kgs, hp, range etc.) - which obviously serve a narrow & short-minded sphere of interest.

They could make a short range and a long range option. If there was a short range version with like 200km range they'd be able to get away with a pretty damn tiny battery that could recharge very fast at a CCS station

If they can successfully scale this up for mas production, make it available globally, and keep the price down, this would absolutely be a game changer. Most average people are priced out of current EV options.

Also, with fewer batteries the range is lower but charging time is also faster. If you make a car that can go 200km but charges within 10 minutes, the range is not a problem anymore.

I absolutely love this car!! I drive a full-size pickup truck here in the US and I would sell it RIGHT NOW if it meant I could have an OLI. I think the speed limiter at 68 would need to be increased slightly to, say, 80 to cope with US highway speeds safely, and I'd like that glass at the back to come all the way to the tailgate, making it a weatherproof hatch. But other than that, I don't think I'd change a thing. This is exactly what I always wanted to see in an EV. The design, the practicality, and the FUN are all there. Canoo comes close, but OLI really hit the bullseye. Unfortunately, I'll never be able to get one because Citroen don't sell cars in the U.S. 😭

Amazing. This needs to have an offroad trim. With slightly slimmer wheel arches as an option (the black ones) and some bigger tires on those same wheels it might be able to go anywhere, so long as battery and engine are protected. And it seems like one can mount all types of gadgets, navs and tablets on the rail that holds the phone and speakers. Will be waiting for this neat buggy.

Doesnt need to be, since its not made to go fast. Top speed will be 110km/h. That way, smaller battery, wich means, less weight, wich means, less consuption and longer range.

it looks like a mini hummer in a lot of ways, I love it! I love the attention put into materials. I love how it uses a phone and has real buttons. Anyone who has ever used those new center touch screens knows they are impossible to use when your driving, The simplicity is simply outstanding. It looks almost production ready. I am curious if the roof will have solar panels? If not, then could it be removable for a jeep like convertible? I do wonder how much the weight will change once safety features are put in (I'm assuming there are not many in it because it's a concept). I am concerned about what would happen if it was hit by anything or rolled. I am hoping they adjust the phone station so it has a slider for length, width, and thickness of a phone, I don't like taking my phone out of it's case. I also hope it works for Apple and Android alike. Its such a great feature. I hope they decide to do a 4 wheel option for those that want it. This car seriously looks like it wants to climb some hills, and trails.

To answer all of your questions, I'll say this. The oli is limited to 68mph. It doesn't need to go any faster than that because citroen have designed it to be for urban areas where speeds are usually so low drag coefficient isn't all that important. It's design is also misleading. It's actually quite small, around about the size of a Ford Puma, but because it has such an upright and chunky design it looks bigger. Also in response to that last bit, citroen is making sense. This is probably the most sensible and well thought out car in decades.

Where do I sign up for an Oli? For many years, I've known Citroën to be the one mass car producer that has the cojones to be truly innovative. They never disappoint me. Seriously miss my wonderful C5 estate. That beautiful car gave us sixteen years of hassle free driving. Whilst our three children travelled in comfort, safely. I only got rid of it as, it was a Euro 3 diesel engine I was unable to justify driving in 2020 owing to emissions. Almost immediately regretted

249 projected miles out of 40kwhs isn't impressive at all. Tesla gets 270+miles out of 50kwhs in the base model 3 since 2018 now and 250 miles out of the base lfp pack equipped model y since 2021. Those cars weigh 3,600-4,300# and have way more standard features, available&standard tech, passenger space, safety equipment, acceleration etc. Props though for being different and funky looking. Almost reminds me of a tonka toy. 🤔
