Good video thanks. Think I have to change the shock absorbers on mine, so liked various elements of this video that made me less fearless of doing it. One trick I found out recently after struggling with so many drop links, was that if you jack both sides off the ground, you then don't need to struggle crow barring the drop links into position.

It's not a bad job my only addition is be very careful with the position of the wiper motor when reinstalling. It's super easy to have it not sitting right and then you use the wipers and have a broken windscreen. 👍

Thanks for the video. I have a serious rattle from the driver side. I believe it's the top mount. Your video makes changing the whole assembly look easy. Did you assemble the new one yourself or can you buy it assembled?

I have an issue where there is a rattle going over over bumps ect but the ball joints are fine... also the tyre wears out on the inside but the wheel alignment has been checked and is absolutely fine ... there is a bounce when the cars driving.. could bad shocks cause this... there is a fair bit of bounce when i rock the front end

i have the same car , this is a nightmare of a job. There are two torx bolts holding that retainer , you have to be a contortionist to undo them… this was by far one of the hardest jobs I’ve done on this car. Did you change the shaft seal while your at it ?

No I didn't change the shaft seal, prob should of but seems to be holding up ok for now. 👍

hi im curious to know if changing the shocks fixed the wobbling about issue, as im having the same type of issue with my own c4 grand picasso, only way i can describe it is it drives like a boat on water. i have changed literally everything on the front end other than the drive shafts (theres no knocking), steering rack, shocks and top mounts. id appreciate your thoughts. nice video though enjoyable, and yes i noticed your mistake at the first bolt :)

Hi John, thanks for watching, yes the change of shock which included the top mount had resolved the issue. It turned out i just found another issue at the same time but that was resolved with new clips. On your C4 just make sure the big center bolt on the top of the strut it tight. Other things that can cause knock noise is drop links, tierod ends and ball joints. Hope you find your issue.

@@abilityshare9294 hi thanks for replying, I have changed the wishbones, inner tie rods, track rod ends and the drop links. The issue is still there and getting worse literally feels like a boat. I was just curious if the issue was resolved your end with shocks before I spend even more money trying to sort it out. Did u go second hand or new parts do I mind me asking. Thanks for the content

i went second hand, have you checked wheel baring? also when you changed tie-rods did you get tracking done?

@@abilityshare9294 it’s was all done by a garage so I can only assume was all done as I would think it’s common practice when changing that sort of stuff, there’s no normal wheeling bearing whirring noise so I’d say they are fine, there’s no tell tail signs of worn shocks either though. So I feel it’s going to be hit n miss but there’s not much else to change now.

very strange mate, if it feels like a boat then could just be weak shocks & spring making it feel very loose and tippy/rolley, but cant really suggest anything without seeing the vehicle. I hope you can work it out though. Best of luck!
