Hello everyone interested enough in this channel to visit here.
I'm just a single Dad whose son wanted his own KZbin channel to try and make some money because, quite frankly, we're pretty poor. Sadface.
But we're really happy together and I'd do anything for him, including making all sorts of random videos to upload to KZbin.
As such there's going to be games, reviews of various things and, as I generally can't afford to pay to get things fixed, anything I'm repairing that I can video I'll also upload.

Nice, but you will get the Problem soon again. You have to change the pins no.4 and no.5 (should be red and blue) on the control panel, as well the two pins on the window motor, cables has the same colours as on the control panel. Than you will be peacefull 😁

Oh wow that sounds like you've been here before. Well that'll save me a bunch of investigating should it happen again. So far the problem hasn't returned but if it does I'll be posting all repair work here. 👍

I had a friend here last week who was ripped off here in germany during this repair in a workshop. I have also looked at many repairs on youtube which helped me, so of course i try to help others as well, so that they don‘t get ripped off.

I saw this and other videos, good video btw, and I noticed they al lhad something in common. They take the door trim off, and pop the switch unit out. So I tried gently prising the switch unit straight out with touching the door trim at all, and it just popped out. Could not have been easier. Popped straight back too.

You are so right. Someone else has commented the same and I truly believe you. I had the door card off changing speakers at the time and used many of the same images. I should make a simpler video for sure. Thanks for taking the time to comment. 👍

I owe you big time. My Citroen garage quoted me £240. After reading your comment I got the unit on Ebay for £32 and popped the old one out and the new one in in a couple of minutes. Works fine. (note for anyone else, you need a point to push in the little tab to remove the two leads) Thanks again !

To do this type of fix you would have to remove the keypad yes. But I've since been told that the keypad car be removed without removing the door card. The keypad can be removed by prising the front and rear parts up with a screwdriver.

@retroprime7244 You're very welcome. Since this video I have found you can pop the switch gear out of the door without removing the whole door card. It just has clips at the front and rear of the switch box which can be pushed in by sliding a flat blade screwdriver in.

Hi i was just wondering why you took the whole doorcard off to get the switch out ? I have a 2008 c4 grand picasso and just popped the door handle in half and stuck a screwdriver in the front panel and popped it out had it all working and back together in less than 5 minutes

Honestly, its because I don't know what I'm doing. Every job is a learning experience. Historically I've broken so many clips and tabs thinking I knew how something was attached that now, if at all possible, I like to see what fixings are used before trying to force parts to separate. But that's a great help for the future so thanks for the comment. 👍

@@channelone4655 i will try everything first before taking a doorcard off lol the buggers never go back on the same again all i done was pop the handle in half pop the switches out unplug them plug them back in and they started working again,My new 1 came in the post yesterday so i always got a spare i guess.

@@philclarke1438 I can't argue with that. But I'd bought a bag of 50 trim clips when I was changing door speakers so I'd given myself half a chance. I think I repaired this while working on the speakers actually and just used some of the same photos.

Mine done the same but the switch in the back won't do it up either. Back and front made it go down when pulling up, now its stuck down and cant get it up. Going to try this but issue seems a bit different

I did find it worked intermittently so a good few trays might at least get the window up. If you unplug the motor (so you don't send the voltage back) you should be able to put voltage directly to the affected window motor again to at least get it to go up. Best of luck.

Incorrect procedure for door handle cover removal. Using the method shown will guarantee you snap the front clip off the cover. You need to find a rectangular hole at the front of the handle between the handle back face and the door cloth. Insert a screwdriver in here and keep it there - this releases the clip holding the front of the cover on. THEN you can prise the cover off from the front. Keep wiggling that screwdriver until you hit the tab and gently prise the cover away from the door (i.e. towards you). It should then come off without snapping the clip.

Well, every day's a school day. But I wouldn't say the method I used will 'guarantee' snapping the front clip off, because I've removed each door card a number of times and still have all handle clips in place. What I do get through is the clips which hold the door card to the door because no matter what tool I use I always break at least one of them.

Yeah I'm sorry. At the time of doing this I didn't have any way of supporting my phone to get a good view and it really needed both hands to open the body of the switchgear. It genuinely was the same as popping a TV remote apart where by you just slide a small flat blade screwdriver between the top and bottom parts of the switchgear body. Really though unless fluid has entered the switchgear I can't see much to go wrong as it's quite well protected. I can add though that after just cleaning the connector pins some 9 months ago I've not had any more trouble. Definitely not what I was expecting to find inside though.

Thanks. Now, I have been told you can pop the switch pack out of the door card without taking the card off the door. Might save you some work, but I was working on speakers at the time so did all at once.
