That car was driven around the world, was produced from 60's to 90's, probably the best car french ever made but not so popular like Citroen DS and some other french cars.

its very possible that it was deflected by the window or went in at a angle that looked like it went though the window and hit the driver. firearms are pretty predictable until the bullet hits something then its anybody's guess with a round that small. besides that shot was just to open the chase.
