@@CobnutVTS the thread is so frayed now but im keeping it on. Engine on mine just blew got a vtr. Going up on a 4 hour round trip tomorrow to grab a vts engine and put it in. The car is bone stock apart from the VTS conversion i’m about to do. Good to hear someone’s taking care of theirs too

Bud not to worry you but check inner front wings and rear arches inner/rear boot and behind fuse box/ecu. Im currently restoring my track spec gti and, it was far from solid but look really clean when i bought her. All the best

Awww trust me mate I've looked 😂 am on my 4th Saxo now, thankfully all the usual locations are really good, the only bit of welding I needed to do was inside drivers side arch and it was only about the size of 2 £2 coins thankfully so not that much at all, the first vtr I had was rotten in every single place that was available 😂 but had it welded up, hope your project keeps going mate love a GTi 😎

Check your sunroof drain channels tubes run some strimmer wire down them very common

Yeah man will do that in next vid! I had them welded up but never put any seam sealer or anything which is deffo an oversight on my behalf so will seam seal and then clean the insides of them out and that'll hopefully sort the issue, cheers for the comment! 😎

definitely needs a water pump that does mate very close to failing it sounds.

That may very well be the source of the sound after looking about 😂 can't afford it at the minute but timing belt and waterpump are next major things to get done

Trust me man...I paid about half that for them n they aren't even that bad I'm well happy, I've got two sets but using the other set for parts for rebuilding this set, might make a vid on em when I rebuild them if you'd wanna see that 😎

Absolutely man! Sold the 106 which is where the money for the 207 and subsequent 308 came from and the vtr is still in a world of it's own I'm not sure on what I'm doing with it just yet 😂 will probably end up using it for bits 😎

Yeah man it is nice and low mileage but it's just way too rotten for me to tackle right now, the end goal of course would be to put it on the road but I'll probably need near 3 grand to get it where I want it and I don't have that at the minute sadly, but I would love to return it to stock and go from there as a base, stay tuned on the channel I might do something with it whenever I get a bit more money for it 🤞
