In this video I remove my dwarf citrus hedge (really a semi-hedge) and replace the trees with full size citrus trees. Visit Practical Primate at practicalprimate.com

Love your place Daniel, how does your guava go with all the fruit fly up there or are they all winter ripening guavas That spot looks perfect for a jabo 👍 down this cold way with dwarf or any citrus the bugs are not much of a problem just too much water, cold or regular deficiencies but biggest factor is when it ripens in relation to heat around if you want any sweetness

Thanks Neil! The earlier guava are not too bad as they ripen in winter but yeah the fruit fly sure do like them and the later ones are toast. I’m not a huge guava fan so it was an easy decision. The fruit fly seem to leave the Brazilian guava alone and I’m told the perfume guava is also left alone too (though mine is yet to fruit). I have those in pots for now. Yeah certainly different down there, I’m looking forward to seeing how all your Jabos fruit in the colder climate.

Good work. The benefit of hindsight hey! How long were the flying dragons there? Also, where did you source the new citrus?

Definitely Scott. They were there 3-4 years depending on the tree. I got the new ones from a few different local places (Oxley nursery, Templex nursery and a local Mitre 10 that gets in some good/interesting trees). collected them as I found them because I was after the specific rootstocks).

I have a flying dragon navel orange in a tight spot only 6 months in ground and want to know how much it will fill out. Cheers.

@@scottmiller9975 these have trouble competing with the pests here but even with the best care I reckon it will be within 2 m width after 4 years (and super easy to keep at that size.
