CittaSlow Finike. Slow City Stories Documentary. (Part 6)
Slow down, you are in Finike!
The Slow City Stories Documentary is a documentary series that tells the stories of the cities in Turkey that have received the CittaSlow title.
Finike is the sixth episode of the sixth installment of Turkey's most comprehensive CittaSlow documentary.
Finike is a very hospitable and incredible city, you will understand what we mean when you watch the documentary and listen to the stories of Finike.
First of all, we would like to thank the CittaSlow Turkey team for their support for this documentary.
We would like to thank Finike Municipality for hosting us so well and Ayşegül Aydemir for all the coordination during the filming. Also, many thanks to all the people of Finike who contributed and whose names are written below.
We will tell you the stories of a calm city. Stories of calm cities. We will tell you about Finike. An Antalya city that has received the title of a calm city and deserved this title to the fullest; not only with its oranges, sea, history, but also with its people.
While recording Finike in the documentary Chill City Stories, what attracted our attention the most was its history. There is a history that has not yet been excavated and unearthed in every corner of the city. Of course it has a magnificent sea, of course it has incredible oranges, but this quiet city also has an incredible history.
Whoever we talked to, whoever we handed the microphone to, told us how much importance the people of Finike attach to education. Maybe that is why Finike is an unspoiled country, maybe that is why it has remained so calm and beautiful.
Of course the history of Finike is incredible, of course we want to shoot dozens of documentaries to tell its historical stories. Even just making a special episode about the ancient cities in Finike excites us. Anatolian cities do not only have historical stories, they also have stories of heroism and beliefs. One of these is the story of Hasan Çavuş.
This is why it is important for a city to receive the title of CittaSlow and fulfill the specified criteria. This title is given to cities that can protect their history, cities that care about their people, and cities that can make life easier. More cities should be awarded the title of calm city and we should have more livable cities.
In the city built by the Phoenicians and used as a port city by the Lycians, there are many historical cities such as the ancient city of Limyra, the ancient city of Arykanda, the ancient city of Myra, the ancient city of Rhodiapolis, and in a city where there is a lot of history waiting to be discovered, think of the stories told.
Finike is a quiet district in the middle of a geography full of high tourism cities on all four sides. A city with organic agriculture everywhere and history everywhere. That is why we are very lucky to have shot this documentary.
Sometimes we had a hard time during the filming because we ate really incredible oranges and we couldn't hold ourselves back. Finike is a city to live in.
Thank you
