In 1955 i had studied abt Rana Pratap Singh/ Chatrapathy Shivaji apart from The Mughals.But Mughal's despicable atrocities were not mentioned in the books.But Mughals were described as gr8 administrators & fair rulers thus distorting the facts.

Ncert has at least written something about marathas 120 years rule,but ncert has totally removed our kalinga history from books,nothing is written about ganga dynasty and gajapati dynasty of odisha our odisha hindu king crossed swords with islamic invaders for more than 600 years and never allowed to step in odisha,that is the reason why odisha has so many temple,nobody outside odisha know about narsigh deva 1 of ganga dynasty who defeated delhi and bengal sultan and build konark temple,and about gajapati kapilendra deva who was greatest hindu emperor of india in 15th century,he defeated bhamani kingdom,malwa,bengal and jaunpur sultan captured territory from ganga river up to rameswaram in south,but nothing is written in ncert books about gajapati dynasty king kapilendra deva of odisha,

That's why the colonial education system need to be changed. If we don't even know about our ancestral history, how can we feel proud of our heritage? I too feel left out from my nation and cultural history even after going through schooling days as nothing was ever taught regarding that. Reform in education is must. Or Gurukuls are required.

Now some one has started creating anti maratha feelings in kannadigas by doing weekly videos as story of places -says marathas looted lots of towns and temples in karnataka. But projects Hyder& Tipu were great rulers of mysore.🤔

Marathas only came up till delhi. They didnt hv east, north east, the extreme south and the extreme west with themselves. Not even entire uttar pradesh, just some southern parts of it. Therefore, I dont consider there conquered territories as the entire India. You can say they had a huge territory under them but not the entire country. British did take most of the country from local hindu monarchs, mughals and the marathas. Marathas are just a part but not the entire country. Though I agree Marathas havent been specifically detailed in the NCERT but have been mentioned though, not the way they should have been mentioned, which is an unfortunate thing.

The empire at its peak stretched from Tanjavur, Tamil Nadu in the south, to Peshawar in the north, and Orissa & western Bengal up to the Hoogly river in the east. That is a major part of Bharat. If you view the Maratha Empire map you will get a better idea. Their empire was huge.
