Hey Madness. The last time you did an update on your server's other cities by other builders was a while ago, I can remember the Kargeth update #7, and I think there may have been another one at some point. Although I wouldn't mind seeing more of the other builder's work, what do you think of this? What if you and the other builders were to try and build a massive city in between the others? I would love to see the clashing and merging of the different styles and cultures that would take place. If the bunch of you tried not to make your buildings close together or bunched up, the other builders would have space to mix their own creations in with one another. I get the feeling this idea sounds like absolute chaos, but what if it's not? I can only dream of what all of you combined can do when you put your minds to it.

Your vids give me a Lou of inspiration when it comes to my crafting. I have issues with planning though. Like how to plan a build so it's not identical to someone else's. You should post a video explaining your thought process when planning a build so that others like myself aren't 100% copying tutorials and are able to start building their own. I've got several ideas in my head but no ideas on how to use them lol.

Hey Madness. I remember when you posted videos about the other builder's creations, Kargeth update #7, and maybe something else, it's been a while. I would like to see more of that, but I had an idea. What if, in between all the other cities, you and the other builders all came together and built a massive city? The way the styles and cultures would clash and merge could be amazing, I can only wonder what it might look like. If all of you decided to follow your own styles and build spaced out enough so that other builders could build next to each other, the out come could be disharmonic, or it could mesh and blend perfectly. Just a thought.

Just out of curiosity, how long have you been building Mad? I've been building medieval and rustic things for almost 2 years and I've gotten better at it, with someone who builds the same interests as me, and gives tutorials, I'm just curious when you started doing all this, and how you improved. Are you self taught?

I really look forward to more of these kinds of videos. The artwork is beautiful, and inspire me to draw too (but I am not nearly as good as Matt King in this video). I also learn a lot. What is the best way to develop your own personal style when it comes to medieval builds? I mean it was great that you helped with the tutorials but I'm looking to try and branch out with my own things to try and build my city in a unique way. So far it has a lot of Kargeth's feel like it could be a sub city from your world but would like to make it better.

I can build medieval as well, but I'm not as good as Mad is though (he's like 10x better xD) I am also good with rustic builds too, maybe like skyships and cabins. If you want, it is a little bit late to reply but I can be maybe some kind of build team on that server (if it's a Minecraft sever without any mod downloads, I may be good at video game building but I really suck at computer programming)

Ah, even this great video fell victim to the street poo myth. Though to be fair they did say not all cities are like this particular example in the beginning and also said people (especially nobles) care about hygiene. At least they didn't say everyone drank beer instead of water. Too many people want to know more about castles but ignore towns and cities. Nice to see someone made a video about the topic.

Well, the question wasn't specific enough. If I were to travel in medieval times while retaining my current knowledge, I'd probably want to be a war engineer, or an engineer in general. My primary concern would be faster development of technology and living conditions. First thing I'd probably do would be to try and get an audience with the king or a person of high authority and discuss my vision with them.

Hello there! I've been doing casual research on medieval times for recreation and there's one question that Ive never been able to answer no matter how much research I put in... Did commoners, like not royalty or nobles... ever own land? Or houses? I know that a vast amount of land was owned by nobles like dukes and counts and barons, and that land was given to people in exchange for labor and such. I know the idea of feudalism. But did nobles and kings own ALL the land? Surely there were commoners like merchants that got rich. Was any houses or land up for sale which they would then own? You made a mention in the beginning that the cities were free and the rest was under feudal rule. So does that mean commoners could own houses and property, and not just have that space given to them by a lord in exchange for rent? Its all so confusing. I suck at economics :/
LevoGAMES
LevoGAMES 8 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge, it was possible to purchase land if you had enough cash. The land was owned e.g. by the king, who had a person or department that administrates who is getting what kind of land. The king himself often had better things to do, as to give a patch of land to merchant XY. Other than that, well, if you didn't have the money, you would buy a town house and pay taxes for it (basically a rent). Or, as you said, you would work for a count or lord, and they would lend you a bit of land in return. There were not many options, back then ^^

Most likely, I'd want to be a mason. Masons were among the most influential and respected tradesmen back then, and mason guilds had the council's ear at least and seats on it when times were good. The work gave you cash you could use to learn more advanced architecture, and hell, you might end up designing a cathedral!

The main thing I love about medieval times is that you had more freedom to use your skills and creativity to make a living without a degree, company, tax registration and so on. If I lived in the medieval times I would be an engineer, inventor, painter/artist, blacksmith, leatherworker, carpenter/woodworker, bowyer and an archer.
