Howdy, Bill ... I just got back to my ranch (in Colorado, USA) from vacationing in beautiful San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico (beach town) ... I had the most wonderful time and I absolutely loved it. This video is most informative about La Catrina. I didn't know she was celebrated as much in Capula. Jose Guadalupe Posada Aguilar (full birth name) was born in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes, Mexico. In Aguascalientes, the locals honor & celebrate Aguilar's art work (La Catrina) in the same manner. Thanks for sharing. Take Care.

If you are married to a Mexican, does that automatically grant you Mexican citizenship after some years? Or do you actually have to live in Mexico?

Very good question. I will have to look into that. Thank you for watching.

You can apply for temporary residency at the INM inside of Mexico. After two years of living in Mexico, you can get "nationalidad mexicana" which is basically Mexican citizenship

@jamesaoglesby9897 Thanks. It works differently than in the US I guess. In the US a US citizen could be married to a French person and live in France. That person in France is then eligible for citizenship even if he doesn't live in the US. But Mexico allows someone to gain citizenship if his kids are Mexican. The US doesn't unless his kids are 21 years of age.
