City of London Police close down busking band

After a noise complaint from a guest at a nearby hotel, the City of London Police move in at 3:55 to pull the plug on a street band performing in Bishopsgate.

Nice to see how efficient city police are, sending 3 officers and a car, all because someone thought that 3 guys making a bit of music must require some kind of legal intervention because they couldn’t hear the traffic properly. Let’s hope the police are looking to spend more money on this alarming issue.

Not into rock, but the vocalist has a great raw voice, fab guitar playing as is his colleague with the drummer keeping the beat going. Surprising that there is a Police van parked up behind them across the road, then City of London cops roll up and shut them down. Such a shame. The players are so compliant.

Bishopsgate Police Station is only about 20 yards down the road, which probably explains the parked police van. Over the years I've seen many performances by bands and singers at that very spot and this was the only time I've seen the police intervene.
