San Antonio has been starting to sell off these New Ways but I was able to find this 2013 unit running as a spare on a Friday recycling route. The city usually doesn’t keep trucks for this long but these New Ways are still earning their keep, as they have held up pretty well. This one is not in the best shape but it still gets the job done. This neighborhood mainly has alleys but I was able to film in a part of the neighborhood that doesn’t have alleys, which was cooler to see in my opinion. The driver had also just gotten his CDL so he’s still learning the route a little bit. The city still has a few of these 2013s, and even some 2012 units but I imagine they will replaced sometime this year. With that being said, enjoy the video!
Thanks to the awesome crew for letting me film!

Great video, so cool to see that you found one still kicking and even better, on a section with streetside collection. I’ve always found it interesting how they sell trucks off when they still have life left in them, but with that being said it does make me wonder what they’ll buy to replace these. Nice find and great work on the video!

Thank you! I was a little surprised to find one of these too and I was glad to film it in a section that doesn’t have alley collection. They tend to start selling off trucks that are 6-7 years old but some will stay a little longer if they still need them. They have started to buy a few gray M2 King Cobras but I’m curious to see if they plan to buy anything else. Glad you enjoyed!

Very nice video Andrew! I remember your first video of one of these with Ben it was a bit harder to film because of that “jungle alley” lol. Lots of great shots in here especially thanks to streetside collection! Cool to hear that this unit is still active enough to stick on SAs fleet for a while longer!

Thank you! Yeah that alley definitely made for an interesting video and I was glad to film this one on street side collection. I’m glad they decided to keep a couple of these oldies around!
