City of San Antonio: Various Garbage Trucks Collecting Heavy Organics

The start of spring in San Antonio is the start of leaf season or as most drivers call it “heavy season” since the trees drop all their leaves during this time. The increased amount of leaves means more organic carts are set out, resulting in more trips to the dump, and longer days for green waste drivers. The city recently rerouted the majority of their routes which made them slightly smaller but some organic drivers still end up working 12+ hour days, doing as much as four loads, to complete a route that for the rest of the year can be done in one load in only about 7-8 hours. Friday’s route is the heaviest so that is the day that most green waste drivers work the longest. I recently got a new organic driver on my route and my neighborhood is the last one he does on Fridays so for several weeks I was able to see my organics get picked up late. I decided to make another compilation similar to last years (linked below) of all the trucks I managed to film collecting the extra heavy organics. I was able to get many different trucks for this video, including lots of tag team footage which was awesome. All the organic drivers help each other to finish so there were several times where more than one truck was collecting a single neighborhood. Everything in this video was filmed after 4:30 PM and some of it was as late as 8:30 PM. Anyway, I’ll let the video speak for itself. I hope you guys enjoy!
