City of Visalia 520 Python on Trash

Gone are the days of the split carts, the CCC 7000s, and the brown and green trucks. This is Visalia's "flagship" truck now, a totally white, CNG Python, sitting atop a common 520 chassis. At least they got the mirrors right!
Enjoy this unfortunately now common sight!

Looks like a lot of cities are choosing white for their trucks. The city of Searcy here in Arkansas has CNG 320 Scorpions in white/green, but it looks like they are sadly replacing them with diesel white LR Pythons. Great video as always!

Thanks! I wish cities didn't choose to go "municipal white" for their garbage trucks but I guess it does cut down on maintenance costs. Wow, you normally don't hear about cities switching from CNG back to diesel

@@zp12684 No problem! Little Rock still buys green trucks, but the rest of the cities in my area use white trucks. Conway is switching back to diesel too, but they’re buying blue trucks.

You should see the non cng ones! On febuary i had a tour of the yard and they said california is allow a new type of diesel to be used in trucks There's already two or three non cng trucks in the yard! but sadly they're soon gonna replace the rapid rails.

That's cool you found this, did you catch anything else from their fleet? It's all Python right? I love the ladder on the tailgate, that's classic! You probably heard about this but I recently learned most drivers will not extend the arm or dump a can when the blade is retracting because it will speed up due to the PTO and possibly hit something...

I did in fact, this was the day I caught the CCC Mammoth before filming this. I wanted to find one of their, at the time, brand new 520 Pythons just to showcase the new fleet. I haven't heard of that but that's interesting. The Python just doesn't seem to be the best built truck, from the very touchy controls to the messed up hydraulic system, it makes me wonder what the selling point is behind them.

@@zp12684 haha yeah but they're fun to watch regardless. A driver who makes hopper videos with his python told me about it because I asked why he was retracting the blade when it was going to pack and he said he didn't want to risk cycling the arm as the blade was retracting. Says most incidents at their yard happened during the blade retract cycle. A couple other Henderson drivers told me about this too.
