You say they are not perfect, but they are. They are perfect in their lack of perfection, because of their lack of perfection, they are beautiful. If any of my nieces presented me with a quilt made with those lovely squares, I would cry my eyes out. They ARE perfect. A machine makes things perfect, humans make things beautiful.

I received this book as a Christmas gift a few years ago. I've only made 15 blocks but I won't stop.
