I think that it's so wonderful that even though we sin against God every day, He is still able to love us and want to be with us. I once heard during a sermon that no matter what we do, we cannot make God love us any more or any less.

@Elisha I think we're both saying the truth but talking about different things, and therefor confusing each other. Let me explain my side so that maybe we can understand each other's perspective. Your comment, "DO NOT be led to believe we are once saved always saved," confused me a lot at first, but I think I understand what you meant. Romans 6:1-4 says, "What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefor buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." This passage isn't talking about us physically dying like Jesus did; it's talking about how we must die to the world and its desires when we accept Jesus into our hearts and our lives. When we become true followers of Christ, we must die to our sinful lives and desires, and try to live a life according to the Bible. We can't repent for our sins once and then keep living a life of sin because "God forgave me and loves me so it's okay." To be honest, I used to believe that lie myself. Whenever I was tempted to sin, I would tell myself, "Well, if I sin, I know I'm going to feel genuinely sorry and repent of my sin afterwards. I know that because of that, God will forgive me, so it's fine if I do it." I told myself this in moments when I was torn between what I knew was right and what my sinful nature wanted to do, and I used it to justify letting myself give in to sin. I did this for a long time, until I came across Romans 6:1-4 one day in a Bible study. I felt extremely convicted, because I knew the passage was right. I really realized how much I had been lying to myself, and how wrong I was. So yes, you are correct. We cannot repent and say sorry for messing up once, and then go back to our sinful nature. Repentance isn't a one-time-thing-and-you're-saved kind of deal. We have to do it every day, because we mess up every day. Just to be clear, repentance means "to feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin," according to the dictionary, but another part to it is taking action because of that remorse and actively trying to be better. That's where I had been lying to myself; I felt sorry after I gave in to sin and wanted to be better, but I never actually changed my ways. I was confused by your statement at first because I interpreted it differently. I thought you meant that even if we fully accept Jesus into our hearts and are saved through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we can be un-saved somehow. This implied that something WE do saves and can unsave us. This baffled me, because being saved by Jesus has nothing to do with us or how "good" we are; salvation is a gift from God. We cannot earn salvation, Jesus gives it to us. He doesn't just hand out eternal salvation to everybody just for free, of course, but that's a whole other can of beans, and this comment is already reeeallly long, so I won't dive into it now. :) Also, I want to clear up what I said about God loving us no matter what in my first comment. I think you might have interpreted that as me saying, "God FORGIVES us no matter what we do." That's not what I intended to convey. I meant, "God LOVES us no matter what we do." "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8 Sadly, many people, young and old, believe that maybe God stops loving them if they sin. That's not true at all! This verse tells us that God died for us even when we were still sinners and rejected him. God doesn't love us because we obey him, or we're "perfect," like a lot of non-Christians believe that Christians are supposed to be. God loves us like a father loves his children; he loves us the same no matter how much we mess up, because his love is not based on human works. It is not something we can earn or deserve, but rather something that God gives us. We cannot change how much God loves us! I read a passage just earlier today that I'd like to share. It's Isaiah 43:2-4, and the beginning of verse 5. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. 3 For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. 4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. 5 Do not be afraid, for I am with you, God is both powerful and loving, both king of creation and humble, both omnipotent and kind. He is the Lion and the Lamb. It's true; God IS love, but that certainly doesn't mean he's weak. :) If I misinterpreted anything you said, or I missed something, feel free to reply and correct me. I'm still young and I'm no preacher, and I still have a lot to learn about God's word and my journey as a follower of Christ. It's so awesome to see other strong believers ready to defend the word of God on KZbin!

Three weeks ago I have listen this beautiful song at my church ⛪️ and tears of joys came out of my eyes and I can’t stop playing over and over this amazing song . My life was horrible 8 years ago without JESUS . He set me free from a deep and chronic depresión that I use to suffer since when I was 11 years old . I try to kill my self a few times but God had mercy on me. By the goodness of God, His children are healed. I could still remember that moment where I turned my back against the Father. I was lost in the midst of misery. I forgot I had my God to hold on to. There was this thundering noise clouding in my head, it was the evil, confusing me, holding me back, and guiding me towards the dark. But God did not let those evils to work on my life. God works in a different way. He made a miracle happen. He is an omnipotent father. There was a youth camp in our church. By the work of His Holy Spirit, I was able to join. It gave me light. It taught me again how to seek for the light of God. By His light, I won't stumble. I realised God did not move. God did not leave me behind just like how I did to Him. Instead, He stayed where I left Him. I realised that He was waiting for that moment where He could finally say, "My child, what took you so long? Hold my hand, I am bringing you home.", God is my shelter. I am just truly grateful to have Him in my life. It pushed me to share this testimony.❤❤❤
