Lack of nutrients may be the problem. Add vermicompost and neem cake powder to the upper layer of soil and spray seaweed extract over the plants.

Neem oil or neem extract plus garlic extract mixed with a little soap and vegetable oil (if not using neem oil) and warm water should be sprayed over the plants at an interval of 3 days for 2,3 times in the evening.

In fact there are so many poisonous but popular houseplants like Peace lily, diffenbachia, Aglaonema, Pothos, Anthurium, etc. But they prove to be harmful only if you injested those somehow. So, that's that.
