I've always loved skylines as well. I grew up in Little Rock in the 60s and watched it grow. My dad had a jazz band and would play on the top floor of the 3 tallest buildings, where they had a club and restaurant. In late afternoon I would go help him set up his PA system and gear and would enjoy the view. The dark blue one was Union Bank, the white one was Worthen Bank, and the tallest at the time was First National Bank. Then they built a taller one which was called TCBY, but later changed to Simmons. Then my first job in 1980 was delivering air freight, my route was downtown LR so I got to go in every building downtown. Thanks for your video, and all the other ones around North America I've been watching

Great overview as always, Geek!! I have also, always been impressed by LR skyline especially, for the city’s size! Used to travel through the city yearly. Use to travel from Louisville to just south of Dallas with the fam to visit extended family every summer. Even though Nashville and Memphis are WAY bigger than LRock but for some reason LRock just “excited” me more than then other (driving through) also seemed longer to get through the metro than the bigger Tenn cities.. 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

To America, the most important job I ever had was raising my children for 7 years a vicious pit bull was unrestrained at all times and I had my young babies who then became young children. I mowed my yard with broken legs even tried everything to keep my yard up to the crossed perfect moral code. I cleaned it consistently and did it in great pain. My kids could not even go in their own yard. Ide keep it immaculate but my family could not go in it. The pit bull came at my elderly mother as well me and my kids. The police drove by regular ly 7 years in fact. If anyone has eyes they could see the 500 pound pit bull, fact they didn't care. Arkansas is full of predator s of every kind. I made police report about the dog, however I'm not from Arkansas. I even called the governor s office. It's unbelievable what a mother has to do to just keep a predator dog, just to protect her children not to mention the rest of your Arkansas predator s, u Arkansas have a lot of them. Because I care about people I would not advise anyone most especially a WOMAN to move or work in the state of Arkansas.

Its funny you say that because we want to move to Tennessee but have noticed this dog thing is a problem there too. We live in a pretty populated city now and there are rules for dogs here. But i noticed not many people fence their yards in Tennessee and Kentucky. Maybe thats why they let their dogs run wild. So dangerous. Im curious why you didnt fence in your yard to keep the dogs out?? That's the first thing we will do when we move. I realize people who live in the country want their freedom but taking someones elses freedom by putting them in danger with your dog should have consequences

I spent some time in Little Rock, and let me you: It’s a strange place. Little Rock is where Bill and Hillary Clinton began their political careers. All over town you see photographs of them with blacks, but for some reason, all of the photos have a strange erotic quality which is difficult to define. The images are really creepy. Anyway, While I was in Little Rock I got into an argument with some people, and was charged with trespassing. So they put me in jail, where I stayed for five weeks. My public defender was almost impossible to reach. Finally I got her on the phone and she told me that I couldn’t see the judge in person. I could only see the Judge via Skype. That means the Judge could be anywhere in the world. I told the public defender that I wanted to see the Judge in person. But she told me that would be impossible. And then she told me that I would have to plead guilty in advance, before she would agree to make an appointment with the Judge. So I never had the chance to plead my case. I’d already been in Jail for weeks on a trespassing charge, so I had no choice but to agree. The next day, I was taken to a laptop computer, where I pleaded guilty, and I was then released. America doesn’t have a court system anymore. Our country is a Soviet Gulag.

@rastablack54272 жыл бұрын
Worst density of any city I've seen with over 100K population. I'm from LR and out of curiosity took the time to visit the downtowns of other similarly sized cities on Google Maps, and every last one of them blew LR's downtown away as far as density, and especially, vibrancy goes. We've torn so many buildings down for parking lots that there's no reason to even park in them anymore, which is why you see them always empty.

Lol. Yeah it's probably most famous for Walmart but there are some cool things about Little Rock
@johnraconteur17233 жыл бұрын
Outside of Bentonville, Walmart doesn't have much influence on the state. Even once you get out of the general Northwest Arkansas area (including Bentonville) there isn't an unusual amount of Walmart stores. My wife and I recently had to leave a suburb of Bentonville due to cost of living. The town grew by 55% in a decade because Walmart required vendors to open offices in their home town. It sucks, but we are enjoying Fort Smith now and being able to easily have weekends in Little Rock.
@CityGeek3 жыл бұрын
That is interesting! When I lived in Minnesota I felt like Target had a really strong influence due to their corporate offices being in Minneapolis. Glad to hear you guys like the new area!
@johnraconteur17233 жыл бұрын
@@CityGeek Did target have the same influence on the city as Walmart does on Bentonville? Part of the problem here is that Walmart is a titan of a company located in what was a small town up until 20 years ago. So Walmart basically dictates growth and development. Like, where bypass ramps go, zoning laws, etc. It can be difficult at times. I think that the influence would be felt less if the city was already large. Like, Dillards has was never able to shape the path taken by Little Rock. Great channel, btw. Top notch content and presentation.
