there has to be a way to get the lid fully closed. my artisan was like this and i took a set of pliers and broke off a little piece of the plastic that pinched the ink line and i was able to close the lid without it pinching the line. tbh i don't like the way the lid is open. i feel like its a magnet to invite dust into the unit. has to be a better way im my opinion.

Please remember lids are left open to allow free movement of ciss tubes due to limited spaces inside by the manufacturer

This looks like a great idea for saving money endlessly buying ink cartridges. One question: how do you deal with the beep and notice on the display screen to close the scanner unit when it always sits open, albeit on the clip on the left side? (I am assuming this warning notice still applies to the XP-7100 as it does on the XP-810 printer that I have? I am about to purchase the 7100 so am interested.)

No warning exist on this model , on the XP-810 it is different we do use a lid sensor plug -kind regards

As far as going into maintenace from the menu to bring the cartidge shelf to the correct left hand position on the printer. But the moment I shut down the printer it moves it back to the right side in a locked position. Any ideas?

You can power it on then when the head moves , please unplug it, please contact us for a resolve though - the mess free method

This is not chipless - in Europe we do not need chipless - the chips work , if you get chipless firmware from here chiplesssolutions.com/download.shtml and can buy our ciss from here www.cityinkexpress.co.uk which will work well together

Unless your printer was purchased in Europe unfortunately it wont work as you do not use the same cartridges in your printer that we do
