Imagine how dumb it would be for a team like Spire that traveled so far to the game only to have the game CANCELED 10 minutes before it started. Most High School players can DUNK. And in warm-ups with no defense you might end up with 20 to 50 Dunks per TEAM. Eventually after a whole season or 2 season of 20 to 50 Dunks a game for each team and the rim is going to give away. Schools USUALLY cannot afford to have a backup Goal hanging around to install and even if they did they would need a Professional to install it right. That's why they have to have the RULE. It's actually common in most states.
