Every year more money is spent tackling 'homelessness.' Every year we have more 'homeless.' Something doesn't add up. We need an independent forensic audit. FYI- Shelters do not allow police or security presence. They do not divulge who is at the shelter. Drugs are rampant.

Only in the west. Thing is, they say we're free. But you're only as free as you are wealthy. You can't do anything without money. Even going to the bathroom, you pay for the water, for the lighting in the room, for the toilet paper. Then for things to clean your toilet sooner or later. Eastern philosophy and even Christianity tell us material goods and money have false value, created artificially. But literally everything in our society tells us that money is everything. Money is life. Money is survival. Money is freedom. That's the cause of our nightmare. The fact that money is the root cause of everything everyone does at some level.

As a CanadianI just don’t understand what is happening. We are a country that’s is too 5 largest land mass, we only have a population of 38 million, we are the 3/4th largest oil producer, our lumber is abundant, our water is abundant basically for our population we should be way more ahead then we are. We just give so much away without taking more for Canadians. We very badly need someone to take the steps for Canadian’s an finally get what all of us deserve. Canada should have absolutely no debit an each Canadian should be way more better off then we are now. I do not know who the new generation will have anything. Housing is way to high, food is becoming a nightmare on the bank account, fuel wow don’t even get me started on why we pay so much for fuel. Canada will fall in the next 10 years if we as Canadian’s don’t stand up and get what we deserve.

I feel bad for the ones battling mental health with no one to help them. but, geez, if my brain went dead, on me, I'd still have a support system of friends to help me through it. Where are their friends? They probably left, after they had been abused and taken advantage of, from the same person, until they couldn't handle it. Now, they have no one to help them. If you don't have any friends helping you through your toughest struggles, it tells me a lot. You have no idea what you're proposing. You want to basically create a ghetto where the most evil predators will be able to pull people into dark corners of a huge building where they can do whatever they want to them. And who are you going to hire to work security and provide resources at your glorious hellscape ghetto? Who is going to clean it, keep the lights on. Do you include a jail on site? Do we hire a full time doctor or do we need a hospital ward? How do we settle disputes over square footage in sleeping areas? Do we turn everyone loose during the day so we can clean up? You're not talking about putting a roof over someone's head for a night, you're proposing establishing a village overnight with imaginary money, with no direction, and no oversight. Shallow, short sighted spending like this is why we have an inflationary crisis. Sit down for 3 minutes and think about how difficult it would be to do something as innocuous as getting sheets for 1000 cots and setting up the infrastructure to have them washed and returned every day, because good luck getting the average shelter dweller to even put their sheets in a hamper in the morning.

No one ever stops to ask WHY they are homeless. No one starts out homeless. People END up homeless. Typically through some pretty catastrophic decisions in their lives that led them there.
