Having Mr Langlois talk about the members and Gord was really nice. Sad day for all the hip families and for Canada.

That's why I love you Canadians..... you don't act like the best, you yet somehow become the best! Great attitude Canada. Love those Hipsters. Sorry to hear about your lead singer. I'm sure you'll have a special on the CBC one day when the band plays and these great Canadian singers take turns at singing those songs again. And I picture Blue Rodeo Bryan Adams Sarah McLachlan and being introduced by Wayne Gretzky..... can you be anymore Canadian? Brought to you by Molson Canada lol. I just can't believe it.... don't let this band dismantle. If you see them on the streets tell them the show must go on..... Gord Downie's legacy must keep rolling. I'm sure he would be thankful and wanted it that way, and so do you Canada!!!

Canada has been supremely blessed with talented music makers. Somehow, the band will keep The Hip's legacy alive. They are part of our DNA.

Thankful that there was time for the band and his family and us, his fans, to get used to the idea that this was coming and for everyone to get to say their goodbyes and their thank yous and I Love You's. RIP Gordie. Gone too soon.

damn.....I kinda thought I had no more tears to shed.....listening to this soft spoken man.....crying again thinking about it. Ive wondered how the other fellas in the band were coping. If by chance, any of the other band members get on you tube, and happen to read these comments, I would like to say that I was a fan of the Tragically Hip. Sure, Gord was larger than life on stage, and his lyrics gave me many contemplative moments, but that rhythm section. WOW, and the guitar work, and the harmonies. My heart breaks thinking about you guys missing your Brother In Arms. Im 52, been a fan for over 27 years, saw The Hip 9 times. I cant thank you enough for the memories, and cant say how sad I am for you all

TIC. An iconic Kingstonian in his own right. Coached and taught many, many people. Never underestimate the way coaches and teachers influence people - even to a generational level.

I was awfully lucky to meet and work with Gordon Downey in Kenzie, and he really was a beautiful soul. He gave back to his fans in wonderful free concerts in Kenzie, here in Toronto, and probably win his home town of Kingston too. I'm starting my aquafit classes with some Hip Hits since he passed away: Ahead by a Century, Bobcageon, Wheat Kings and New Orleans is sinking.

What a nice man. Got to think he had an influence on those boys in the band, and he's not saying it, but his smile shows he loved Gord, even if he didn't quite see the poet that was in him. And make no mistake. Gord Downy was a poet first and foremost. And he was a great one!
