横浜市が選ぶ優れた技を持つ職人「横浜マイスター」。
稲見さんは蒸気・電気機関車等の鉄道模型（主に真鍮製）を設計から完成まで一括受注製作しています。一般的な鉄道模型であるNゲージ[主に1/150サイズ、レール幅９mm]よりかなり大きいOJゲージ[1/45サイズ、レール幅24.0mm] 及び Oゲージ[1/45サイズ、レール幅32.0mm]のサイズ感を活かし、本物と同じ構造の再現を求めるお客様の様々な要望に応えています。旋盤・ミーリング・プレス・シャーリング・ボール盤加工などの的確な機械加工を踏まえて、ハンダ付け及びネジ止め等による組立を行っており、医療機器製造や光学機器製造など他業種からも加工方法のヒントを得ながら、製品ごとに新しい表現方法を提案しています。(2023年8月撮影)
“Yokohama Meisters” are high-skilled handworkers chosen by the City of Yokohama.
Yukio Inami makes models of steam/electric locomotives and other rail vehicles primarily using brass. He builds each model to order, overseeing the entire process from design to completion. He works in the OJ scale (1:45 with 24-mm gauge) and O scale (1:45 with 32-mm gauge), which are considerably larger than the more common N scale (typically 1:150 with 9-mm gauge). Capitalizing on the larger size, he responds to the diverse requirements of customers to faithfully recreate the models’ real-life counterparts. After precisely crafting parts with machining processes such as turning, milling, pressing, shearing, and drilling, he assembles them using solder, screws, or other fasteners. He incorporates new techniques of expression in each product, taking inspiration from other industries, including medical and optical device manufacturing.(Recorded in August 2023)
