Hey Dennis! Quick question, lately I’ve been frustrated by the hop plant material after dry hopping and noticing grassy flavours develop when chilling and force carbing. What tips do you have for packing in hop flavour for NEIPAs and minimizing off flavours?

Currently I dry hop in a micro fine bag, use a fermenter with a catchment (fermzilla), close the bottom catcher valve so I don’t mix any material during my closed transfer, no longer cold crash when dry hopping. Thanks in advance!

How long are you leaving the hops in before kegging. You typically only get grassy flavors when it's been in contact with the beer for like a month. I've dry hopped 2 weeks straight and it's been totally fine. I use the fine mesh paint strainer bags (gallon size) for that too and Ive done the insert for the fermonster and both have worked well. It does help dry cold crash before you keg if you can, since that will pull down that hot material all the way to the bottom and less likely to be transferred into your keg. It will also help prevent that "hop burn" you can get during the first week when you transfer a really hoppy beer. With that said, all that should settle out in the first week in the keg too.
