I like that personal touch by Moses, in a real modest Canadian manor. Man's a legend.

Too bad he sold out to CTV who took over and killed all that was great about city TV. Especially cp24 the now quietly taken over leftist propaganda channel.

Born in Toronto in 66. This footage is incredible. It makes me yearn for the old days when we used to head out to the Eaton’s Centre on Saturdays as a teen. Christopher Ward what a legend. He pretty much made Much Music what it was. His weekend over night video shows were the start which lead to Much Music. What a time to be a teenager! ❤️✌️🇨🇦

@@VBaskin2010 Absolutely! They were both great. Loved them on the New Music every Sunday night. What a great time to live and experience Toronto when it was a big city …..but had a small town feel to it.

Really cool sign-off. Typewriters! Film and cassettes! Corded phones! Photographic prints! Hand-written letters of comment! Christopher Ward! Such a trip to the past! Also, with the security guard wandering around it reminded me of that "Zontar" SCTV sketch with Eugene Levy. Great stuff.

@4:40 A reminder that not everything shut down for the night. That must be the overnight videographer, in case something happens at 3 a.m. In a city the size of Toronto, I assume someone was in the newsroom all night listening for scanner traffic.

When mainstream tv, radio, music, media, etc still aimed to be creative and in good taste. Anytime before the 2000s it was the perfect marriage of natural corporate meeting artistic creativity and even avant garde.

@@sillygoose635 No. Too corporate and overproduced. Also, the same messages. And too dark, too negative, not neutral, and lacking inspirational and beauty factor. It's not hard to tell the clear differences of today's tv and before the 2000s.

Back-in-the-day City TV was a sought after TV station particularly if you didn't have cable. Available only on the UHF band outside of Toronto. The lead-in song at the beginning of this video features 'Dan Ackroyd' doing a very rare recording of "Doin' It Right on the Wrong side of Queen". Too bad Moses Znaimer drove the station into a anti-Canadian, anti-Christian and anti-police hole. It had real potential in the early 80s.

@@ongogablogian1876 If this is a thesis on your part, that is quite a recitation. Best I can do is tell you what I know, as to what I remember. In colloquial English basically the TV experience for me is how I measure and recall experiences throughout my life. Along with rock and pop music, the movies, toys and school experiences. That is my key to remembering stages in my life. Perhaps the you tube comment section is not the best venue for questions and answers of the magnitude you're looking for.
