Potato so on point about firings. Esp for something aesthetic (the art style which I really like). The UI is a disaster and the main reason is the sameness of everything. You can’t tell events, interactions of your own design, encounters are all a drab, cold grey. That look for ONE aspect of the information is fine- it’s sleek. As the only way the game interacts with you, it has the effect of making it too much like a productivity app or some kind of work software. It drains the joy of the game a bit.

Papyrus Problems question (7 houses, 7 cats, 7 mice, 7 barley, 7 gallons of cereal) asked how many enumerated items there were, not how many of the last item there were. So 7 + 7^2 + 7^3 + 7^4 + 7^5 = 19,607 would be correct if you're counting everything mentioned, 7^5 as16,807 would just be the gallons of cereal, so I think 19,607 is probably the "more correct" answer.

Really disappointed in this one. Doesn't seem hard at all, the changing of civilizations only makes slightly more historical sense in the way it is done than humanity, and the crises system is truly half baked - just moving bad civics into civilization - yawn. Staying with 6 and my back log for awhile I guess. After defending the changes elsewhere earlier on youtube very dissapointed.

Due to the way city sprawl works in this game, you could give players the option to rebuild the city hall in a nearby tile anytime you conquer a city. Instead of needing to raze a city and resettle, just tear down city hall and move it to the good tile.

Genuinely looks disappointing, maybe im old school but I appreciate historical leaders being attached to their proper civs. Its just kind of confusing you meet a Greek Harriet Tubman that turns into a spanish nation just seems unnecessary, maybe im wrong but I also feel like this may make it much harder to balance these civs/combos. Its only a matter of time before these leaders will have metas, kind of decreasing the purpose of doing the leaders thing in the first place. It feels like an unnecessary addition that will add more difficulties on the developers end to manage the game especially considering the majority of civ players were not asking for that to begin with. I prolly need to give it a shot obvi but as a Civ player this just doesnt entice me to place the game sadly

I did notice looking at the details on the deluxe and founders packs that they come with a few things now and they also have future plans it mentions dlc stuff coming (included if you buy the pack automatically when they get dropped) in like September or so a bunch of new stuff will be dropping for the game now and between then all included with the founders pack, maybe it’ll be worth it in the long run if the dlcs give us some better game modes or something more on par with the civ we all wanted and love

With the ages system, I think it'd be interesting for independent powers to become minor powers in the second and third age (unused leaders perhaps)... 1 city with 1-2 towns and the ability to grow like an actual civ. Espionage and other unhappiness events causing suzerain revolts (and loyalty making some sort of return... which could play into minor powers).

I love the art style of the game- looks like a moving painting. Personally I like the concept of having diffrent leader and changing Civilations in diffrent eras. For some civs, once your out of their era it's like playing any other civ, so the freedom to mix and match offers so much more to players. Always an enjoyment to watch you Potato, I look forward to seeing more from Civ 7 in the future.

@@milos3d I think Normans have a special unit that replaces settlers however when they settle cities it also gives it walls

Go back and read the norman civ ability… they are a unique unit which gives then free medieval walls in cities they found. You can built them right away, so you just missed it.

It's a bit tricky because they added it only recently into 6 technically through barbarian encampments, but there's no tutorial so don't give yourself a hard time, it all falls under the undercooked UI

What happened to the last part of the stream? Why does it cut off just before twelve hours? I remember that the stream went well into the thirteenth hour. If youtube limits the length to be under twelve hours, could you edit it to exclude the waiting room and include the conclusion? Edit: I noticed that the videolength is displayed as 11:59:56 when reload the site and adjusts to 11:59:59 when I select the last part. Edit 2: My latest observation is no longer an observable phenomenon. On my latest reload, the length was and still is 11:54:59. You are not trying out Spiff's latest exploit, are you Potato? Cutting away the stream in chunks of five minutes just to boost the watchtime statistics would be very annoying.

Instead of giving you a discount on the price, they give you a bonus to what you pay. This is worse. Let's say a building costs 100 gold to buy. With a 20% discount on the price, you would only need 80 gold to buy. Currently, once you get your 80 gold, they generously give you a 20% bonus on that gold which is only 16 gold (80 x 0.2 = 16). That's not enough to buy the building. You need 84 gold before you can buy the building.

So. Just came home wanting to play the game I paid to play the founders edition. Downloaded the game but it keeps crashing. And when crashing, it directs you into a Side with troubleshoot options, which means it is happening to many people. Not wanting to hate, but kind of disappointing. I wanted to believe. And yes. Games are hard to optimize for different setups. But I have the most sold CPU of the past year aka a 7800X3D and a 3060ti, which is older and is a pretty standard card, bought by many Gamers. I am deleting the game and reinstalling. When it still crashes, I'm out. For all those wondering if they want to buy the game or not. Maybe this helps you. And yes, I have a background in IT and I can troubleshoot myself. That is not the point. The point is for those who can't because they just start the PC to play a game and have no clue what a Firewall is. People like this still exist. Edit: After wasting money and over an hour of my time the game is still crashing. I went to sleep hoping for a patch, but still crashing. So I am now sitting here, paid for early access in which I can watch other people play. What a time to be alive.

Humankind was supposed to be a lesson in what not to do but they seemed to have embraced almost everything that made it bad. Civ 6 was almost 10 years ago and this being the next in the line is very disappointing so far. Game isn't even out and tanking on reviews already and I can't say I'm surprised. If it wasn't for Old World the historical 4x genre in the last few years would be on life support.

Re: the unit cost and silver argument, why? What was the point? It’s simple: look at the cost of a unit without it in. Then put it in and look at the cost of a unit. Take new cost divided by old cost to get the percentage and the remainder below 100% is the discount. It’s insanely easy to demonstrate and would take like…a minute, tops.
