Good info man thank you. I've been reading about that strut tower guide pin removal online nice to see someone actually tried it out . im going to have to give it a shoot on my civic now. Update I removed the pin twisted the steering wheel around till the bolts moved towards the center of the engine bay bolted it all back up and definitely a slight lean on the tires now nothing crazy but better than nothing at all . thanks again brother!

Not all hero's wear capes. my camber is horribly off like -.64 driver side front -.15 passenger side Front. everywhere I've been for an alignment says they can't adjust the camber in the front. Finally I can get my car dialed in

Once I adjust the front camber on my lowerd car do I have to do the rear or can I get away with just the front. All I need is a little camber cause my front tires rub a little .

Thanks for the video! I'm setting my Si up for track days on a fairly tight technical course. I'm used to an AP1 S2000 with a fair number of suspension mods to make it as benign as possible (but I like the car to rotate). So, basic mods to my Si, starting with an Eibach rear sway bar, set to medium setting and that's about it for mods to begin (need a solid baseline). I like the camber mods as you indicated, tho' more might be better. I'm used to rear toe-in of about 1/16" to 1/8" on the rear of the S2K. Any other suggestions?

I've heard people like a more stable setup for track due to safety. Maybe less rear toe out or 0 toe depending on how comfortable you are with the track
@robinbennett68532 жыл бұрын
@@MuffinRacing Wow, thanks for the speedy reply! I'm comfortable with oversteer on the S2K, as it's easier to get the car to rotate predictably on tight corners using the throttle to 'steer' the car. I guess, what I'm trying to do is get the Si to rotate in a similar manner. Path of least resistance... :-)

Thanks for the video!! Just got an alignment today after removing my pins and maximizing camber. I got -1.1 deg camber right and 0.0 deg camber on the left. Seems like yours was similar but flipped side to side. Is this normal on the civics? Is there anything I can do to get more camber on the right side?

I think it's just down to luck of the draw on where the frame ends up. The factory service manual has a pretty wide allowable range. You can try getting crazy with it and loosing the bolts for the knuckle and pretensioning everything inward before tightening the bolts, but it'll only buy a few tenths of a degree

@@MuffinRacing that’s what I’ve heard. I was definitely shocked to see how much the toe changed with the camber change. The fronts were at 0.31 and 0.16 deg of tow before the alignment after removing the pins. But great content! This helped me with some ideas on how to get a little more performance in autox

4:43 Smh I’m looking into how to adjust caster and we didn’t go over it or if there’s any mods to adjust it
@MuffinRacing3 жыл бұрын
To adjust caster, you need adjustable top hats, there isn't a factory adjustment for it

Great video very informative. My si is lowered 2 inches all around, in your experience, do you think I’ll be able to adjust rear camber (to stock settings) enough without aftermarket camber arms?
@MuffinRacing2 жыл бұрын
Seems unlikely, there's no rear camber adjustment without aftermarket arms
@letd19952 жыл бұрын
@@MuffinRacing really? I thought you could adjust rear camber just a little bit on stock rear arms
@MuffinRacing2 жыл бұрын
Nope just front. You could maybe use crash bolts though

My nephews civic has a negative camber on the rear both side. But the wheel shop says they can’t correct unless I purchase adjustable arms. Is this true. 2005 Honda
@MuffinRacing2 жыл бұрын
That's correct, there isn't a way to adjust camber from the factory. You can get adjustable arms and fix it that way, or figure out why camber is off and replace the bad parts

Very good video! I have a question: I installed lowering springs but I did not remove this pin, is the camber preserved at the factory? and should i go for alignment setting or can i go drive like that?
@MuffinRacing2 жыл бұрын
The alignment with lowering springs will be different than factory setting even with the pin installed. It's a good idea to take it in for an alignment any time you replace suspension parts.
@erdjanmyumyunov60462 жыл бұрын
@@MuffinRacing I mean I changed the springs and mounted without removing the pins. So have I kept the factory camber or do I have to go for an alligator setting?
@MuffinRacing2 жыл бұрын
You need to go for an alignment. The pins locate the top hat, but by reducing the spring height you have changed the length of the lower control arm relative to the top hat which changes camber
