You already showed it. Look at the trap speed on the GT-R also the GT-R did that at a curb weight of 4000lbs (full interior) on street tires. The Camaro you are talking about also has a 9" rear and full slicks and skinnies. Essentially it's a drag car. The GT-R you mentioned is a street car through and through.

ET's are important but Trap speeds tell the tale of potential of the other car. A car with a high trap speed means that it can do better with more traction. Good ET's just mean a car hooked up well and got a good 60' FT.

you do realize that in the standing mile (texas mile)there is only two gtr's that have broken 200mph, one was 205mph and the other was the fastest GTR (alpha 12) and its speed was 216mph, while there are quite a few chevy's that have broken 210mph and a Camaro that hit 244mph. so once again V8>V6 in the standing mile and the 1/4 mile AND the track.....

So once again let me ask you, if a TT GTR (AMS Alpha 12 GTR) with over 1600hp to the crank, AWD, and Launch Control can only run an 8.6@173.8mph while a '99 Camaro with a 433ci LSX, C5R heads, and a custom induction setup that's good for enough power to push the 3,300+-lb car to 8.58 in the quarter at 158mph how do you fathom that the GTR has a greater drag racing potential??

the Alpha 12 was entirely meant for the 1/4 mile and being a DD perhaps you once again missed the point. it couldn't run tubed slicks because of clearance in the wheel wells it would have had to have some major body work to fit them making it likely not street legal or at the very least that much farther from fatory. they CHOSE to run the GTR the was they did because it was the best way to get the fastest time with its set up and it still had a slower 1/4 pass and trap.

What don't you understand? The car wasn't set up to run the 1/4 like the Camaro you mentioned. Also the car wasn't maxed out and the car didn't run at the full 1600WHP at the record pass. Lets also remember that the GT-R also got a higher trap speed than the Camaro you are talking about. So comparing a street car and a fully built race car is stupid. Run the Camaro on the same tire as the GT-R and it would be in the 9's.

its just a busted headlight i don't care what you say the turbo on supras are mounted on the driver side of the engine or if you're rich mid frame or rear mounted but the major thing is the intercooler pipe is behind the headlight and wouldn't leave room for the turbo and it'd be stupid to set it up to be mounted like that rather than upgrade the turbo and put it where the stock one was. and no it's not an inlet pipe running to the turbo either.

there is no replacement for displacement that means that the GTR will always have less potential than a ZR1 because it has a smaller displacement engine, it takes 2 turbo's,AWD and Launch Control to get this V6 into the 10's while there are FBody LS1 cam and heads camaro's running in the 9's. top fuel dragsters use V8's for a reason and if you want to argue otherwise just show me proof that the fastest car in the world is not a v8...you can't though because it is a v8 :)

Wrong again buddy. The Same GT-R that did 8's in the 1/4 last weekend did 233mph at the standing mile yesterday. The Camaro there did 251, and I commend the car on that but it's a different car from the one you were talking about. And honestly who cares other than you about what's a better platform. The GT-R was meant to be an all around performer in stock form. Its one of the fastest cars around the ring and is a great all around package.

you do realize it is easier to modify and upgrade a pushrod v8 like the LS9 and LSA right??? that is why there are LSx engines running 270mph in the standing mile and heads and cam LS1's running low 9's in the 1/4. i don't understand how you can sit here and claim the GTR can be a better drag car than a V8 with near 2x the displacement. The fastest GTR is only in the 8's while the worlds fastest STREET LEGAL V8 is in the 7's. the worlds fastest ALL MOTOR LSx Camaro does the 1/4 in 8.58 seconds

@MurdaINCBaller lol Look it up yourelef kid, just google search the nurburgring lap times and hit the wiki link, the ZL1 CAMARO has a faster track time than the 2010 GTR by about 2 seconds, it has a LSA engine and it borrows the suspension & rear axel from the Z06 and CTS-V. and by the way the solid rear axel is also in the ZR1 corvette which is 5 seconds faster than the most recently tested GTR. Just because your little V6 can't corner like the live rear axel V8 doesn't mean you need to get mad

Also a higher trap speed means the GT-R is actually faster than the Camaro. The lower ET on the camaro just means it's quicker. All that means is the Camaro go a better 60 foot due to having full drag suspension and slicks. If you are going to play the whole full blown race car (camaro) vs street car know what the fuck you are talking about first.
