A problem in this field is the courses are actually not scrynchonised and majority of the engineering curriculum is old school , n it as developed as western countries . Me myself in the industry from last 10 years ,ofthen notice that in India u may not find the best of the civil engineering practices which is followed in western countries or rest of the world .

Starta came for campus drive in our college few days ago ,Teja sir were also there but in interview he didn't ask any technical question.... I have 3years + experience. Firstly I would like to tell you, there is no opportunity in the market specially for civil engineer. I have 1 year building construction experience but there is no reply from any company because I don't have reference and my friends has reference & he is doing job in good company. So please don't make foolish. Without reference there is no job.

Ya mam, I am fresher Highway engineer in a KPC PROJECTS. My starting salary was 12k per month its very low. But when we get experience and work then salary also increase with experience and knowledge. The main thing for civil engineering is to survive. I think If we hard work for two to three years after that us career goes to next level.

If you people wanted to achieve something in life,never choose civil engineering as your career option... Private site jobs are absolute shit,design engg jobs are not up to the mark with very low annual CTC combined with job insecurity...Only sector to look for a civil engineer is to get into a good psu or ese or state psc...that too is very tough currently as number of students applied for govt jobs is huge compared to number of vacancy available...people who passed out from engg btech college 10-12 yrs ago used to apply in junior engineer post..This is the scenario...No student from premier institute chooses civil engg profession unless they get selected in ese..they rather go for it sector... So,If you don't take admission in civil engg till now ,look better option rather and if you completed you btech in civil better opt for MBA course in good MBA college...
