Good explanation but where is the lap length.. that should be added to BBS.. how an execution engineer make cage with that BBS? It is good for college notes but not fit for actual site..

Keeping lap length is a bad practice in BBS, however it should be added in billing. You can not say always that you will fix one bar of 12m length and remaing length as cutting, lets say if you have an cutting length of 14 mtr, and in scrap you have two bars with 8mtr cutting, you have to adjust those also. Therefore idea of lap in bar greater than 12m is foolish mentioning in BBS.

Sir you have given good example how to use 8m scrap. We can use that scarp on another cage which has cutting length either 8m or less than 8m. But not mentioning lap length is incorrect. Because in your problem in 30m pile we can not use 30m bars in a whole, we have to break that cage with laps due to which some extra length of bars will be add up and that extra bar length or all calculation related to that should be mentioned to the BBS. Thats how a labour or contractor or engineer can understand how to make that particular cage.

If it is the problem of lap length for you on site, then let me remind you that where engineers work ends, supervisor's work starts. If contractors has to work alone on site, then there is no meaning of our presence.

Are bhai, saare lap ke piche kyu pade ho, BBS me lap length count nahi hoti hai, jab contractor ka bill bane tab lap count karo, warna apne ko to pata hi hai k site par lap lagega hi. Aur uske liye hum additional 10% site par mangwate hai.
