I carry a paint can opener in my chest rig also (I run the Krydex D3cr same style as yours) but I have a suggestion, you dip the paint can opener in some liquid rubber or spray some flex seal, all the way up to about an inch from the tip. It will help to prevent any unnecessary scratching against your AR and gives a much better grip when your hands are sweaty. Great vid by the way!

Great video and explanation of your gear choice and reasons! I feel for y’all in California dealing with the ridonculous restrictions and infringements of your rights! I highly recommend giving the Streamlight ProTac 2L-X a look for a handheld light, they’re amazing and for the price simply can’t be beat! There’s nothing wrong with using a cheaper chestrig like yours, most of the “name brand” stuff out is just crazy overpriced in my opinion!

Using a pencil at the range instead of a sharpie in the rain is not the way. I’m in the NE in a valley on the Appalachian, a pencil will rip your target if it’s wet. If you’re just taking about a drizzle then or doesn’t matter anyway. Nice chest kit though. Definitely made for the range/training with bros. Hope you get out of cali asap

Don't you have to have a ham license for the uv5r
@TapRackTyler
@TapRackTyler 3 ай бұрын
Negative. You do not need a license to own it or listen in to any frequency. You do “technically” need a ham license to transmit on certain frequencies though. Unless it’s an emergency you don’t need a license at all. Hope this helps. 🤘🏼

Those retention straps on the back of the crossed shoulder straps are designed to have one of the straps to pass through. This is to prevent having the straps crawl up onto the back of the neck. Nice to see you have medical supplies, but you need to have trauma supplies in case, while playing ninja, you shoot someone. Boo Boo med supplies wont' help anyone. More important is to know how to provide emergency medical treatment. What's with the trauma shears? To look cool, or to cut away gear and clothes to expose a wound so you can say "Man, that looks bad!"?
@TapRackTyler
@TapRackTyler 9 ай бұрын
Lmfao where to start. I guess the ninja playing part, although there are plenty of keyboard warrior replies this one made me laugh. The ‘boo boo’ kit is for finger cuts, minor wounds. My IFAK, CAT TQ, medical gauze, chest seals, Israeli bandage are for the trauma incidents. Like I said the rig goes in conjunction with a backpack or belt that have other items as well. As far as the shears, they do look cool, but they are actually are used to cut tape, clothing if needed, seat belts, shoulder straps, targets, gear, numerous items. Also, I have an updated chest rig video if you’d like to critique that as well, thank you for the support. 🫡

Thank you for watching! As far as my TQ holder I do want to put it more centerline. Maybe under my front pouch, but I can still access it where it is with both hands individually and just pull it out if needed. Do you recommend in the front under my pouch? I do need to complete my “IFAK”, with seals, and blow out supplies etc…That is why I called it my “boo boo” kit at the moment lol, it is only basic stuff like antibiotic ointment, Tylenol, tape, bandaids etc… stuff I use most often for now and will upgrade to a better IFAK soon. Is there any other important IFAK items you recommend? Thank you again for watching I appreciate it! 🤘🏼

*@MW-rv9wp* , I respectfully disagree. His chest rig set-up is mainly for projection of force and communication, with a nod towards small medical issues, so [to me] a boo boo kit on his chest rig seems appropriate. He'll be wearing a gun belt (or battle belt) for his handgun, and that's where I could see him having a more robust IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit), with the stuff you mention. Compression bandages, chest seals, quik clot, larger bandages including some "butterfly" bandages, first aid tape, nasopharyngeal airway NPA), perhaps even some tampons (for plugging holes). All really important stuff to have, but I would not load a chest rig up with that, *unless* you also ran a dangler bag / drop pouch underneath the rig. Just my 2cents... *@TapRackTyler* , I like your set up, and I'll be adding that paint can opener (for clearing AR ejection issues) to my kit immediately 👍 In your boo boo kit, you might want to add some moleskin, burn cream, sting/bite wipes. They are small-ish items, and you should be able to pop a few of them in your med pouch. BTW, I like how organized your pouch/boo boo kit is!
