My Dad joined the CCC when he was 18...he used to talk about it as one of the best times of his life. He didn't have a pair of shoes until he joined the CCC. Afterward, he joined the Army and was in the 82nd Airborne flying glider plans into enemy zones...my Dad was amazing....they don't make 'em like that anymore

I am a crew leader for the Conservation Corps MN&IA. It really makes me happy to see this program running alive and well. I encourage everyone to look into their local Conservation Corps and look into their projects.

I wish the Civilian Conservation Corps, or a program similar to it, existed today. I frequently volunteer with a trail building club and the sensation of working outdoors for the common good is indescribable. Thank you for uploading this video.

There could be no better time to recall this program than now. with our military drawing down it's numbers, there are many young men looking for a purpose.

Never heard of them before - talked to a guy from the US that was really positive about the CCC and had to find out he didnt mean the hacking collective CCC. So here I am asking myself why we dont make use of such a nice concept to provide work and preserve nature in my home country too instead of paying millions of ppl to do nothing while suffering the negative stigma of being workless 🤔
