Lot of people don’t realize a lot of the older patrol cars were civilian models. A lot of car manufacturers didn’t make a specific police model back in the day.

civilian models will work with most all the parts but they don't normally include transmission or oil coolers to account for the high idle times that police cars do. wouldn't that be a problem😢

Man it varies! Depending on location on the vehicle some lighting works better than others

Police or civilian its still same body. Only minor differences

Not necessarily true, police packages include some major things that are important, such as engine upgrades, suspension upgrades for better handling, a better alternator for handling the emergency lighting, some pre installed lighting like in the new Tahoe’s tailgate, also bulletproof doors and windows. It all depends on what the agency orders. I’m sure most of those items upfitters could install but it makes it a lot easier when they come from the factory that way.
