playing def this year you have to be able to utilize diff coverages at the right time, just like real NFL def do--and which user to use in that particular coverage to not screw up the coded assignments. all Madden defenses are NFL assignment coded, as are the offenses. Understanding the assignments in palms, vs qtrs, vs match vs zone drop and more, is key to understanding which to call against what type of passing attack. This will lead to alot of coverage sacks, ints check downs, and qb runs. the play Motion Y flex - took the community by storm, but a simple match nick2/4 cov3 buzz bagged the entire play if flipped to the right side and user the single high safety . using a cov4 drop then switching to a cov4 match on certain downs and distance can be the diff at times...ex: your opp sees you in cov4 qtrs on his 2nd down throw, so next play he calls a shock match beater, BUT you switch to cover 4 drop..which will make those fade routes a non threat and he holds the ball or looks for the check down... while cov2 is easy to beat its not so easy if you've been running cov4 and your opp is expecting cov4 on a crucial 3rd or4th and short. thats when you change the shell to 4 go cov2, and user the mid read. understanding which user to play based on your cov shell is important too. its not always the hook/mLB that should be used, in cov3 if players user'ed the single high safety properly it would make cov 3 great again. its this chess game that has me getting shutouts and stops by the ton. Im 55 yrs old so my eyes arent as good as they were when I competed back in the day. But if I could pass my understanding of playing madden def for 20+ years here is some of it

I mean madden is your job right? You play at a huge disadvantage with your team being so bad. There are KO's at every position from less than 12 AP. Spends some money on your team. Dont you make money off playing?
