Soldier's Games - Vol. III, Episode 8

Between campaigns, the Civil War soldier had a LOT of time on his hands in camp. How did he keep himself entertained? Today we start a look at several of the games that were popular in the Union and Confederate army camps. All of the games reviewed in this introductory episode are still available today and an excellent way to gain one part of the soldiers’ experience, whether you want to do that in a living history setting or as a teacher looking for classroom enrichment.
